Man Walks into Starbucks, Demands Free Coffee for 'Reparations'

Share

“A black man walks into a Starbucks.” No, it isn’t the wind-up to a joke… although it does have a very interesting punchline.

An African-American author just went viral on social media after he set out to test just how far liberals will go to to “virtue signal.”

During a live video stream, the man who goes by the moniker “Hotep Jesus” walked into a Starbucks coffee shop and demanded a free beverage in response to the business’s “racism” — and the left-leaning company bent over itself to prove his point.

“The man, author and speaker Bryan Sharpe, also a vlogger whose handle is Hotep Jesus, appears to be a conservative by every account,” reported TheBlaze.

“On his video page, he blasts liberals in a large variety of videos, lamenting that ‘the evil left controls us all,'” continued that outlet.

In what appears to be both a social media stunt and a commentary on how ridiculous modern “social justice” has become, Sharpe walked into the coffee shop with a simple request.

“I heard y’all was racist, so I came to get my free coffee,” he told the barista as the camera rolled.

That was a reference to the recent scandal where two black men were arrested for loitering and trespassing at a different Starbucks, after repeatedly refusing to leave and being politely asked by both employees and the police.

The left exploded into self-righteous outrage, accusing both the officers and Starbucks of being racist. Walk-in protests have occurred at several of the brand’s coffee shops as the definition of oppression seems to continuously shrink, and the coffee chain declared it would close 8,000 stores on May 29 for “racial-bias training.”

Have accusations of racism become overused and meaningless?

Some observers have suggested that the original situation might have been a stunt meant to create a “racist” situation and then complain about it, although this has so far been unproven.

Sharpe seemed intent on poking fun at the absurdity of it all. “I heard you guys don’t like black people, so I came to get my Starbucks reparations voucher,” he continued to the server.

Without questioning this or asking for payment, the Starbucks barista dutifully made the drink and handed it over to the Bryan “Hotep” Sharpe.

“That’s what I’m talking about! This is justice,” Sharpe declared in a tongue-in-cheek tone. “This is justice. This is what I’m talking about.”

“Black privilege gets me free coffee. I love racism,” he mocked. “Only in America.”

If there was any doubt that this hi-jink was meant to call out “social justice warriors” for their increasingly empty causes, Sharpe’s comment to TheBlaze should clear it up.

“Racism is a business,” he explained to the right-leaning outlet. “Thanks to the ridiculousness of BLM activists, it’s the new publicity stunt — and I think I just proved it.”
