Mainstream NY Gov. Candidate Proudly Calls ICE 'Terror Organization'

Share

The Democrats’ hysterical hatred of President Donald Trump and his policies has driven them to embrace some very interesting positions of late.

In recent days we’ve seen calls for harassment and even violence against the administration and its supporters because they supposedly are “Nazis” who deserve to be abused and shamed into hiding.

Now a New York gubernatorial candidate has launched another rhetorical Molotov cocktail, with some wacky “up-is-down” thinking as its fuel.

Cynthia Nixon, a former actress on “Sex in the City” who is challenging incumbent Gov. Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary, declared Thursday that the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency is a “terrorist organization.”

“ICE has strayed so far from its mission,” Nixon told reporters outside a church in Manhattan. “It’s supposed to be here to keep Americans safe, but what it has turned into is frankly a terrorist organization of its own that is terrorizing people who are coming to this country.”

That same day, she appeared on ABC’s “The View” and said: “I think we need to abolish ICE. That seems really clear.”

ICE’s stated mission is to “protect America from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten national security and public safety.”

“This mission is executed through the enforcement of more than 400 federal statutes and focuses on smart immigration enforcement, preventing terrorism and combating the illegal movement of people and goods,” the agency says on its website.

In the view of Nixon and other Democrats, however, ICE agents are “terrorists” because they detain people, including families, who cross the border illegally.

That’s right: To them, the men and women working in often dangerous conditions to protect our country and enforce its immigration laws are the equivalent of al-Qaida.

The next logical step, of course, is to see them treated as such.

Leftists have started publicizing and sharing ICE agents’ personal information to help make the agents easier targets for harassment — or worse.

Occupy Wall Street recently posted instructions on how to kill them, saying, “Grab the ICE agent from behind and push your knife into his chest with an upward thrust, breaking through his sternum.” (It later claimed that was “satire.”)

For those not willing to go as far as murder, relentlessly harassing the agents and their children at their homes and schools is another good option, according to the left.

“WE SHOULD HACK THIS SYSTEM, GET THE ADDRESSES OF THE ICE AGENTS CBP AGENTS AND SURROUND THEIR HOMES IN PROTEST,” actor Peter Fonda urged in his unhinged Twitter rant last week. “WE SHOULD FIND OUT WHAT SCHOOLS THEIR CHILDREN GO TO AND SURROUND THE SCHOOLS IN PROTEST. THESE AGENTS ARE DOING THIS CUZ THEY WANT TO DO IT. THEY LIKE DOING THIS.”

As Democrat politicians and liberal activists lurch further and further into lunacy and lawlessness, let’s hope and pray their violent rhetoric doesn’t lead to tragedy.
