'M-f-ing' Rep. Tlaib Hosts Terrorist Sympathizer, Israel-Hater at Private Celebration of Her Swearing-In
With all apologies to one Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Rashida Tlaib of Michigan has probably had the most interesting first few weeks as a newly minted member of Congress.
Journalists noted, on her first day in her new office, that someone had used a Post-it note on a wall map to try and wipe Israel off the map. Oh, and noted anti-Israel radical Linda Sarsour of the Women’s March was also in attendance at a gathering to celebrate her swearing-in.
All of that should have probably generated enough malodorous news coverage for a month or three, yet neither of those things got much traction. It wasn’t because the media was trying to run damage control for Tlaib. Instead, it’s because she did something else that got people’s attention.
At a reception for the liberal group MoveOn, Tlaib confidently declared that “we’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf***er” — referring, of course, to the president. And thus was the Detroit native’s credibility on any issue involving impeachment and impartiality thrown to the wind, mere hours after she took office. Michigan must have been proud.
As bad as preemptive calls for impeachment and 12-letter vulgarisms are, we probably shouldn’t lose sight of the major problem with Rashida Tlaib: She’s either an anti-Semite herself or really comfortable around them.
Take the case of Abbas Hamideh, who describes himself on his Twitter account as a “Palestinian right of return activist.” He was also apparently invited to a swearing-in ceremony for Tlaib in Detroit.

The “right of return” is a controversial position and something that there’s plenty of nuanced debate to be had about that. There isn’t a whole lot of nuanced debate, however, that can be had over tweets like this:

Well, maybe that’s a one-off that slipped by the people in Tlaib’s office vetting guests. Surely there aren’t tweets of him venerating terrorists like Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah on his Twitter account, right?

No, I guess not. As of Monday morning, Tlaib hasn’t offered comment on the controversy, which probably shouldn’t come as a surprise.
This wouldn’t be so problematic if it weren’t literally the fourth or fifth thing that Rep. Tlaib has done that’s redolent of anti-Semitism. I suppose it would be perfectly fine for Tlaib, as the U.K. Independent reported, to reject a traditional trip to Israel for new members of Congress if she had nothing else on her record. Sure, it may induce a few eyebrows to raise, but it’s a choice.
However, when Tlaib is hanging out with Linda Sarsour and this wonderful gentleman, when she’s come out in favor of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions movement that seeks to treat Israel as if it were an apartheid state, when she’s indicated on occasion that she’s in favor of the far-left “one-state” solution — which would essentially turn Israel into Palestine — and when someone in her office literally tries to take Israel off the map with a Post-it note, yes, I think we can safely say there’s an anti-Semitism problem.
Liberals seem awfully concerned that Tlaib’s “impeach the motherf***er” comment got so much media traction. Fair enough. Instead of musing about her language, how about we start discussing the fact that Tlaib is almost certainly a bigot?
That’s a conversation I’d much rather have — and one the left has been conspicuously avoiding.
