Kellyanne Conway Blasts AOC, Calls Her a Liar Over Migrants 'Drinking Out of Toilets' Claim

Share

Kellyanne Conway came out swinging.

The White House counselor — and one of the key reasons President Donald Trump occupies the White House today — made an appearance on “Fox & Friends” Tuesday to weigh in on the latest controversy stirred up by Democratic Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez: her claim that migrants in border detention facilities are forced to drink out of toilets.

Conway was asked about Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s criticism of Sunday’s brief meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un just inside the border of North Korea.

In a CNN interview on Monday, Schumer accused Trump of running a “photo-op” foreign policy.

“He wants that photo op,” Schumer told CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

“And if anyone thinks this doesn’t hurt America in the short term, in the long run, they’re sadly mistaken.”

Conway was having none of it.

“Chuck Schumer wants to talk about photo-ops, I saw one yesterday,” she said when she was asked about Schumer’s comments on “Fox & Friends.”

“It’s called Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez going down to one of these facilities and making this outrageous claim that a woman’s drinking from a toilet that everybody who has control over that facility has said that’s not true. They’ve not heard of this.

Do you trust Kellyanne Conway more than AOC?

“And then when she was challenged by one of the few reporters who actually ever challenges her facts, she put the (car) window up. Don’t let the air conditioning out,” she said.

Check it out below.

By comparing Schumer and Ocasio-Cortez like that, Conway was killing two birds with one stone and making the administration’s point about the hypocrisy of Capitol Hill Democrats.

The party of Schumer, Ocasio-Cortez and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will gripe endlessly that the Trump foreign policy could lead to war, yet when Trump meets with a leader of a country that has been a threat to peace in Asia and the world for decades, they carp that it’s a “photo op.”

Progressives like Ocasio-Cortez weep public (and hard-to-believe) tears over the plight of migrants caught up in the border crisis, yet last week voted against a bill designed to provide billions of dollars to relieve that plight.

Then, after ludicrously stating in public that the United States is running “concentration camps” of the kind used by the Nazis, Ocasio-Cortez paid a visit to a center and came out with a story about migrants being forced to drink from toilets.

Ocasio-Cortez tried to hit back with a Twitter post that tried to portray Conway as somehow heartless in the face of human suffering.

But if there’s going to be any kind of a contest pitting a seasoned, savvy Conway against the vapid freshman Democratic socialist from New York, the smart money will know which side to take.

Because Conway always comes out swinging, and we have a Trump presidency to prove it.
