Kashuv Buries Hogg After Teen Starts Complaining About Gun-Lobbyists
Few people stretch the adage that “all publicity is good publicity” quite like David Hogg.
The polarizing teenager has taken his crusade against the Second Amendment from Parkland, Florida, to every corner of the political pop culture realm, typically to disastrous results.
Take, for example, Hogg’s snide attack on Laura Ingraham after the Fox News host had already apologized to Hogg for comments she made about the media-created celebrity from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School back in March.
“Have some healthy reflections this Holy Week,” Hogg posted on Twitter, in a sneering reference to Ingraham’s well-known Christian beliefs. Ingraham had already lost some sponsors primarily thanks to Hogg’s campaigning against her.

Of course, for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Hogg’s counterpart throughout all of this has been fellow Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Kyle Kashuv. The younger Kashuv dunked on Hogg back in March over his incessant attacks against Ingraham.
Imagine spending your entire spring break trying to ruin a cancer survivor's career who is a single mother of 3 adopted children from foreign countries.
Dude, this is just sad. https://t.co/xdVg2qM9fZ

“Dude, this is just sad,” Kashuv told Hogg, while citing just a few of Ingraham’s life highlights.
Unsurprisingly, Kashuv was back in the saddle after Hogg levied a general mid-term election threat towards “anyone that takes money from the gun lobby.”
To anyone that takes money from the gun lobby get your resumés ready, November is coming 🙂 https://t.co/02CdP260VU

This time, however, Kashuv wasn’t defending any one specific person. He just used the opportunity to tear into Hogg’s ever-growing sense of self-importance.
You clearly don't realize that at least half of America doesn't care what you say 🙂 https://t.co/XAb4Yd0AuY

“You clearly don’t realize that at least half of America doesn’t care you you say,” Kashuv retorted, along with a smiley face.
Ouch. Harsh, but likely not nearly as biting as it could’ve been.
Several of the first reactions to Kashuv’s tweet thought Kashuv was being way too generous.

It’s fair to wonder what Hogg’s aim is — other than the temporary glofication that came his way thanks to a biased media looking for a new face to put on the gun control movement.
From all indications, America is no closer to getting rid of guns than it is to creating pigs that can fly. The only real tangible thing that Hogg is accomplishing is getting his name out in the public, oftentimes not in the best of light — thanks to Kashuv and other critics.
Is empty celebrity at the cost of self-respect really worth it? Hogg clearly thinks so.
Either that or he has a masochistic side that just loves lobbing these softballs to Kashuv to homer out of the park.
