Just Before Arriving in England, Trump Blasts London Mayor with Brutal Tweets

Share

President Donald Trump headed to England early Monday morning to begin a three-day visit as a guest of Queen Elizabeth II and to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day.

However, not everyone is excited about Trump’s arrival.

Perpetual whiner, London Mayor Sadiq Khan, blasted Trump in a contentious interview with Sky News that went public the day before Trump arrived.

Like Haman jealously enraged at the royal honor given Mordecai, Khan voiced his displeasure that Trump was receiving the formalities associated with a state visit that was costing “millions of pounds.”

“There are so many things about President Donald Trump’s policies that are the antithesis of our values in London, but also our values as a country,” Khan said.

At the 40-second mark of the short clip of the interview below, Sky News asked the mayor if he should show respect to the position of the president regardless of who holds the office.

Khan dug his heels in and said that Trump’s actions over the past few years have been abhorrent to Londoners.

Did London's mayor make a fool of himself here?

(Khan’s complaints were typical liberal talking points, including fake news headlines against Trump such as repeating the lie that Trump defended white supremacists at Charlottesville, Virginia.)

Of course, Trump wasn’t going to take those kind of insults sitting down. Or at least he was going to sit down and tweet about it.

Moments before landing in England, Trump hit the Khan with this tweet:

In a tweet that referred to himself in the third person, as “the visiting President of the United States,” Trump called Khan a “stone cold loser.” Trump said Khan had been “foolishly nasty.”

Not one to shy away from a fight, Trump took the added step of “tagging” Khan in the tweet to make sure Khan saw it.

But Trump didn’t stop there.

Trump hit Khan with a second tweet that was loaded with brutal insults.

He called Khan dumb.

He called Khan incompetent.

He called Khan short. (Khan is 5 feet-five inches in height, 10 inches shorter than Trump.)

While Khan is clearly worried about the public perception of welcoming Trump, he would be better served to take inventory of how his city looks when London law enforcement brags about securing knives and spoons. Yes, spoons.

Khan may think he’s a hero for trying to put a stop to kitchen utensils on the London streets, but he might want to leave the real governing to the big boys.
