James Comey Now Going After Trump Supporters, Wants Them Banished to 'Dark Corner'
Former FBI director James Comey will apparently do anything he possibly can to grab the media spotlight. The guy absolutely loves attention.
That was further solidified on Thursday when Comey published a bizarre anti-Trump tweet that not only targeted President Donald Trump but also fired on Trump supporters.
“We have long had ugly margins in this country, but we are a fundamentally decent people, with shared values. We treasure our identity as a nation of immigrants. With our voices and our 2020 votes, we must send Donald Trump and his mob back to their dark corner,” Comey tweeted.

While we’re not 100 percent sure if the “and his mob” statement refers to to the Trump administration or Americans who support Trump, it doesn’t really matter. Comey has had it out for the president ever since he was suddenly fired in May 2017.
However, as Breitbart reported, a case can be made that Comey was targeting Trump supporters with his “mob” remark, as his tweet came on the heels of a North Carolina Trump rally on Wednesday where people in the crowd began chanting, “Send her back!” after the president mentioned Rep. Ilhan Omar.
The chant was widely condemned by the establishment media and Democrats in general. Even Trump responded to reporters’ inquiries about how he felt about the chant.
“I felt a little bit badly about it, but I will say this: I did start speaking very quickly … I was not happy with it. I disagree with it, but, again, I didn’t say that; they did,” Trump said.
Comey’s tweet was a call-to-action for anti-Trump and Democratic voters to make sure they get to the ballot box in November 2020. Comey has worked tirelessly since his firing to make it perfectly clear that he’s no fan of the president.
Comey also wrote a bizarre piece for Lawfare on Friday called “What I Would Ask Robert Mueller,” in which he explained what he would ask the former special counsel on the Russia collusion case, as Mueller is set to testify on July 24.
His fantasy list of 13 questions is nothing but talking-point repeats of what Democrats have been dramatically whining about since the Russia collusion case started over two years ago — questions that have essentially been answered by Mueller’s final report.
“Did you reach a judgment as to whether the president had committed obstruction of justice crimes?” one of his questions read.
“Did you find substantial evidence that the president had committed obstruction of justice crimes?” another asked.
Unfortunately for Comey, he won’t be given a chance to ask those questions, but given his high-profile status among high-ranking Democrats, we’ll likely see many of the questions he wrote actually be posed to Mueller.
It should be nothing more than a total snooze-fest display of political theater because, again, we’ve heard these questions asked and answered by pundits and legal experts for months now.
Seriously guys, it’s over. You tried, you failed. Trump is still president.
But they just can’t seem to find anything else to complain and raise a stink about, so here we go again.
From his verbal attacks on Trump to his book “A Higher Loyalty” (from which he banked a pretty penny), Comey is one of the most self-absorbed, high-profile anti-Trump activists in Washington D.C.
Even Jennifer Palmieri, former communications director for Hillary Clinton, wrote a powerful piece on Comey after the launch of his book, Politico reported. She highlighted how Comey’s ego “somehow bestowed upon him the right to take actions that were well beyond his role as FBI director” and called it a “dangerous attitude.”
One thing is for sure, if Comey thinks Trump supporters — who are arguably more energized and hyped up than they were in 2016 — have any plans of retreating to a “dark corner” come 2020, he’s in for a very rude awakening.
It’s because of people like Comey that conservatives will set voter turnout records to make sure people like him and his friends understand that America is just plain sick and tired of their political games.
