Internet Unearths Old Obama Footage, Destroys Leftist Narrative on Border Security

I don’t know why the GOP didn’t take this clip and made a campaign video to run on every news station across the country, because I think this would have been the most effective message Republicans could have sent to voters before the midterm elections.

It says: “Border security is of the utmost importance to United States national and economic security.”

It says Democrats think so too. And most of all, it says Democrats are hypocritical cowards who cannot stand for what is right for the American people over their own desire for power and control.

Brad Parscale, President Donald Trump’s 2020 campaign manager, tweeted out this brilliant clip on Monday:

In the clip, former President Barack Obama, at the time still a senator from Illinois, says: “I think we should have strong border security. It doesn’t make sense for us to allow hundreds of thousands of people coming to our borders without us knowing who they are.”

“Oftentimes in very hazardous situations and unmonitored situations that could do us long term damage,” Obama said.

And he said it more than once, so he must have supported it before he was against it.

“We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently and lawfully to become immigrants in this country,” Obama said in that clip.

What a brilliant idea? And if he wanted, he could claim credit for being the first to originate strong border security. After all he’s claimed credit for the strong economy.

Are Democrats hypocrites when it comes to illegal immigration?

The New York Times reported in September the former president as saying the economic turn originated in his term.

“When you hear how great the economy’s doing right now, let’s just remember when this recovery started. When you hear about this economic miracle that’s been going on, when the job numbers come out, monthly job numbers, suddenly Republicans are saying it’s a miracle,” Obama said.

“I have to kind of remind them, actually, those job numbers are the same as they were in 2015 and 2016.”

Ooops. Here’s another Obama comment on migrant children being sent to cross the southern U.S. border without their parents. (This interview was from when he was actually in the White House.)

I hope the GOP takes a more proactive step in the future to remind voters of the underhanded and hypocritical actions Democrats take when communicating with their constituents.

Most of us on the right have figured it out, but for those low-information voters who need help seeing liberal lies for what they really are, Republicans shouldn’t rely on social media to unearth old video.

This should all be running in campaign ads paid for by the GOP.
