Inmates Brutally Beat Stepfather Responsible for Gruesome Death of Baby
There is something of an unofficial code of conduct among the criminal element that leads to a sort of hierarchy among prison inmates, and it should come as no surprise that those who violently abuse small children are generally held in exceptionally low regard.
This barely concealed enmity for child abusers among convicted prisoners is sometimes displayed by acts of vigilante justice when some inmates take matters into their own hands and exact vengeance on another inmate serving time for abusing or murdering children.
Such appears to be the case in the instance of an Australian prison inmate who was just sentenced to serve nine years for brutally beating his toddler son to the point that the boy ultimately perished from his severe injuries, according to the U.K. Metro.
William Andrew O’Sullivan was beaten to the point of hospitalization by two other inmates in a Queensland prison, the court was told during his sentencing hearing. His vigilante assaulters were alleged to have fractured his skull with kicks to the head during the inmate-applied beatdown.
The beating at the hands and feet of fellow inmates reportedly occurred while O’Sullivan was awaiting the final outcome of his trial for the death of his young stepson.
O’Sullivan reportedly was hospitalized for 13 days following that incident to allow for his significant head injuries to heal.
But at least the convicted child beater was able to receive prompt treatment for his injuries from medical professionals, a courtesy the convict hadn’t extended to his 22-month-old stepson, Mason Jet Lee.
Court documents showed that the small boy suffered greatly at the hands of O’Sullivan, an admitted drug addict, who caused “extensive injuries” to the boy in 2016.
Prosecutors said O’Sullivan ignored the boy’s cries and screams of pain for days, at times yelling at him to “shut up,” prior to the boy’s untimely death.
The child was eventually admitted to a hospital where it was discovered that he had suffered anal injuries, a ruptured intestine and broken leg. The boy was also found to be severely dehydrated, feverish and vomiting in his last painful days of life.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, doctors also discovered trace amounts of methamphetamine in the child’s bloodstream.
O’Sullivan initially attempted to explain away the boy’s injuries by blaming responding paramedics, but that excuse didn’t fly as it was revealed paramedics had responded mere minutes after initially being summoned.
The child beater also attempted to blame his own 12-year-old daughter for beating the defenseless toddler to the point of death, again to no avail.
In the end, he pleaded guilty to four separate counts that included manslaughter and cruelty to a child under 16 years of age, and was sentenced to nine years in prison, with eligibility for parole beginning around four years into the sentence.

Vigilante justice and violence aren’t exactly the sorts of behavior we condone or encourage, but at the same time we have a hard time feeling particularly sorry for the inmate justice this child-killing scumbag received at the hands of his fellow convicted criminals.
Hopefully this child abuser learned a valuable lesson of his own in what it feels like to be severely beaten by uncaring criminals, a brutally sick lesson he had taught his toddler stepson not so long ago.
