Brandon Straka Has Perfect Response to Model on Hate-Filled Rampage at Airport
The far left often likes to claim it’s the ultimate bastion of tolerance.
But we all know that that’s hardly the case, especially if those four dreaded letters — MAGA — somehow become involved.
You would, however, think that given how much the left likes to accuse conservatives and the right of being homophobic, leftists would be nicer to gay conservatives.
But no. That’s not even remotely true.
Brandon Straka, a gay man who helped found the #WalkAway movement, can personally attest to that fact. Straka is a former liberal who decided to “walk away from the divisive tenets endorsed and mandated by the Democratic Party of today.”
Straka’s grass-roots movement is encouraging other liberals to do the same.
Straka’s mission to walk away was only emboldened after an incident involving a model, Hanna Blanchette, at LaGuardia Airport in New York.
At the airport w my MAGA hat on. This girl approached me 2 tell me I should be embarrassed. She said I’m a racist & POTUS is a racist. When I repeatedly asked why she replied, “He just is. He just is”. So I began recording & grabbed me twice. Shall we make this model very famous? pic.twitter.com/TdPhwJQcXs

Her: I thought that was a real hat.
Me: it is.
H: I didn’t think anybody would actually wear one in public
M: why not?
H: I thought they’d be too embarrassed to admit they’re a racist & support a racist
M: How’s he a racist?
H: He just is.

She was really aggressive and smug until I turned the camera on, then she ran over to TSA and said, “please help me, this guy is filming me and won’t leave me alone”.
SHE approached ME to shame me for wearing my hat.

Blanchette, by all appearances the aggressor, harassed and abused Straka simply because of a MAGA hat? I’d say that I’m surprised, but unfortunately, it’s what we’ve come to expect from the left in 2019.
“I could tell by the look on her face that she was condescending,” Straka told The Western Journal in an exclusive interview.
“‘People who wear that (MAGA hat) are racist,'” Blanchette said, according to Straka.
“‘Why do you say (Trump’s) a racist?'” Straka recalled asking Blanchette. “And she said, ‘Because he is, because he is.'”
Blanchette apparently thinks that “everything (Trump) says and everything he does” is racist. She also wanted to know, “What person in their right mind would wear (a MAGA hat) in public?”
Hilariously, after Blanchette’s smugness gave way to nervousness when Straka began recording the incident, she had the audacity to tattle on Straka. Perhaps even funnier, shortly after the situation was defused, another person came up to Brandon to thank him and express how much he appreciated Straka’s content.
But the best part of all of this is undoubtedly Straka’s response to Blanchette’s brand of bigotry. Upon discovering that Blanchette had posted a GoFundMe, which has since been “completed” for her ill mother, Straka encouraged his followers and fellow Trump supporters to donate to her cause.
“She opened a GoFundMe in 2016 for her mother, who she said had health problems and, I think, had cancer,” Straka told The Western Journal. He posted to Twitter his response to Blanchette’s aggression.
1. My team identified the girl who harassed me at the airport. Upon researching her, we discovered that her mother was recently quite ill and a GoFundMe was started for her. Rather than perpetuating the animosity that was shown toward me today, I’ve decided… https://t.co/eGKJ2wjGFF

2. …to transform rancor into love. I am donating to her mother’s GoFundMe & wishing her & her family peace & wellness. Wouldn’t it be something if every Trump supporter reading this gave a dollar to her family, w/ a message of love, signed “from a Trump supporter”?continued…

3. Please DO NOT engage in any act of retaliation, hatred, or unkindness toward this person. Let’s show what makes America great- combating hate with love.
This is what The #WalkAway Campaign is all about. https://t.co/g7umvxeADy

“Please DO NOT engage in any act of retaliation, hatred, or unkindness toward this person,” Straka posted on Twitter. “Let’s show what makes America great- combating hate with love.”
“Let’s just help this family and sign it from a ‘Trump supporter,'” Straka told The Western Journal. “So people did. People donated almost $1,000 within just a few minutes. And then she just closed the GoFundMe down.
“Liberals are so hostile and violent and aggressive these days, and give themselves permission to be so openly contemptuous and physically aggressive with conservatives and Trump supporters,” Straka explained, when asked what inspired him to respond to Blanchette in the way that he did. “Wouldn’t it be something if we showed the exact opposite behavior in return?
“So, rather than identify her and have everyone harass her the way she harassed me, or be nasty to her the way she initiated nastiness with me, what if we just did something incredibly loving and kind and compassionate for her and her family?”
Straka also reflected on how he was “saddened and disappointed” after Blanchette shut down the GoFundMe page.
“By closing down the GoFundMe, she sort of shut the door on an opportunity to stop hating people that she obviously has totally has misperceptions about,” Straka said.
Straka is currently filming a video series for Walk Away in Michigan about a litany of topics, including liberal media bias, socialism and racism.
“What just happened to me in the airport proves, now more than ever, why education is so very needed for young people and for people who have been indoctrinated and brainwashed by the liberal media,” said Straka.
That is a simply awesome message that cannot be spread far enough.
Let the left continue to say with its words that it’s the party of love and tolerance. The right can prove otherwise through its actions.
The Western Journal did reach out to Hanna Blanchette for comment. At the time of publication of this article, we have not yet received a response.
