Ellison's Accuser Furious After Dems Pursue 35-Year-Old Allegation over Her Proof
That strange odor of shame and indifference you smell right now is the all-too-familiar scent of hypocrisy coming from Democratic leadership.
Top Democrats have been clamoring for all sorts of time and resources to be put into the investigation of sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.
To be clear, if Kavanaugh actually sexually assaulted Christine Blasey Ford in high school, it’s a heinous crime and he deserves to be condemned for it.
But definitively proving a sexual assault from over 30 years ago is almost impossible, and the timing of this allegation certainly raises questions about its veracity.
That hasn’t stopped Democrats from putting all of their energy into Ford’s claims in what appears to be a last-ditch effort to keep the conservative Kavanaugh off the Supreme Court.
If Democrats really are the party of tolerance and fairness, as they so often like to remind the world, then why have they ignored similarly ugly allegations involving a prominent Democrat, Rep. Keith Ellison of Minnesota?
Ellison, who is running for attorney general of his state, has been accused of domestic violence by an ex-girlfriend, Karen Monahan. Her son first brought up the alleged abuse on social media just days before the Minnesota primary.
Monahan went public soon afterward, saying Ellison physically and emotionally abused her during their relationship. That included acts like screaming obscenities at her and physically dragging her off of a bed.
Ellison, who serves as the Democratic National Committee’s deputy chairman, has denied any such abuse took place.
His ex’s accusations are every bit as damning as the ones made against Kavanaugh, but as far as the DNC is concerned, Monahan seems to be nothing more than a well-timed political weapon while Ford is a bastion of truth.
Unsurprisingly, Monahan, a Democrat, is none too pleased with the blatant display of hypocrisy by her own party.
No, they don't. I've been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party. I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different Dr. Visits, I told them about the abuse and who did it. My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse

When a Twitter user asked Monahan if Democrats believed her, Monahan didn’t mince words.
“No, they don’t,” Monahan replied bluntly. “I’ve been smeared, threatened, isolated from my own party.”
Unlike Ford, Monahan says she has medical proof of the assault.
“I provided medical records from 2017, stating on two different (doctor visits), I told them about the abuse and who did it,” she said. “My therapist released records stating I have been dealing and healing from the abuse.”
Monahan continued her Twitter rant, citing all of the hardships she’s had to endure.
Four people, including my supervisor at the time, stated that I came to them after and shared the exact story I shared publicly, I shared multiple text between me and Keith, where I discuss the abuse with him and much more. As I said before, I knew I wouldn't be believed

But the most depressing line, and the one that’s most damning for Democratic leadership, came at the very end:
“As I said before, I knew I wouldn’t be believed.”
What a searing indictment of DNC leadership.
It can’t be stressed enough that Ford shouldn’t be smeared. If her claims are true, she has every right to speak out on them three decades later.
But it speaks volumes about the rank hypocrisy of Democrats that Ford has provided only anecdotal evidence and is hailed as a bastion of truth while Monahan, who provided evidence from 2017, is being ostracized.
