After Dems Refuse to Listen, Ellison Accuser Releases Medical Records

Share

The accusations came rapid-fire against Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison earlier this year.

In August, CNN noted that while it was “in the process” of reporting a story about Karen Monahan and her allegations that Ellison had physically assaulted her, Monahan’s son opted to go public with a bombshell posting on Facebook that alleged there was video evidence of Ellison physically assaulting his mother.

The Facebook post from Austin Monahan contains coarse language — the language alleged to have been used by Ellison against Karen Monahan. The post details what happened in the video that Austin found by accident while using his mother’s computer.

“I found over 100 text and twitters messages and video almost 2 min long that showed Keith Ellison dragging my mama off the bed by her feet, screaming and calling her a (coarse language) and telling her to get the (coarse language) out of his house,” Austin Monahan wrote.

Since the allegations came to light, little has been done by the Democrats to address the situation. This would seem incongruous with their close association to the #MeToo movement and insistence that every victim should be believed.

Wednesday, Karen Monahan released a copy of one of her medical records on Twitter, noting that “it gets deleted every time” she posts it. The record references alleged abuse by Ellison:

“She states that she was in a very stressful environment for years, emotional and physical abuse by a partner with whom she is now separated,” the notes read. “She did not have any physical injuries that required a physical examination in the past. She identifies the individual she was involved with as congressmen Ellison, and she is worried about retribution if she identifies him publicly.”

Monahan has previously shared what has happened since she went public with the allegations against Ellison. She claims she has not been believed by the DNC, and knew she wouldn’t be.

Conversely, the Democrats have taken up arms, so to speak, for U.S. Supreme Court nominee Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s accuser, Christine Ford. Ford has offered no proof of her accusation of sexual assault. The two men she claimed were witnesses have both denied witnessing any such thing as what she claims.

To some, the fact that Ellison is one of their own, a Democrat, and Kavanaugh is not (he is a Republican) is why the Democrats are not supporting Ellison’s accuser but are supporting Kavanaugh’s accuser. To them, it isn’t about helping women who are victims, but partisan politics.

Do you believe Karen Monahan's allegations against Rep. Keith Ellison?

The timing is suspicious to many, particularly given the fact that Democrat Sen. Diane Feinstein had Ford’s letter alleging the assault as early as July and sat on it until it looked like Kavanaugh would be confirmed. Feinstein never mentioned the letter publicly or privately to Kavanaugh while taking part in the confirmation hearing process when she had the opportunity to question him about it.

Now demands are being made to delay the confirmation until Ford can testify. Ford is, so far, refusing to testify until the FBI investigates — even though the agency has refused to do so. To some, demanding an investigation is just more partisan delay tactics at work.

In regards to Ellison, CNN reported that Monahan made clear that her accusation, which came days before Minnesota’s primary election, had nothing to do with politics.

“People can vote for whoever they feel is the best candidate based on their values,” she said. “This has nothing to do with that.

“Me sharing my story has nothing to do with the primary election. It is never a good time for a survivor to share their story. If I waited a week later, it would become an issue between a Democrat and Republican.”

Ellison and Kavanaugh have denied the allegations against them. Both women have faced their share of critics, and gotten support from others. However, there hardly seems to be any crossover; those supporting Ellison don’t seem to be giving the same benefit of the doubt to Kavanaugh over Ford.

Likewise, those who doubt Monahan’s story, despite having physical evidence, don’t seem to be the least bit skeptical of Ford’s claims, despite her not presenting any proof. This, too, seems to be partisan in nature.

The bottom line is that in both cases, justice should be served. The fact Democrats are so willing to ignore allegations against Ellison that are so recent and are backed up with actual evidence makes it pretty easy to judge their true motives.
