Dem Cries About 'Attacks' on Press, IED Survivor Crenshaw Gives Her Reality Check
Texas Rep.-elect Dan Crenshaw made another appearance on television that’s catching the nation’s eye.
After the politician’s viral reaction to his war wound becoming a “Saturday Night Live” joke, the Texas veteran is quickly becoming a conservative favorite. And now, fans have another reason to celebrate the GOP newcomer.
Crenshaw’s latest moment came during a Sunday episode of “Face the Nation.” U.S. Reps.-elect Joe Neguse, Deb Haaland, and Chrissy Houlahan, all incoming Democratic members of Congress, joined Crenshaw, the solitary Republican on the panel.
The group discussed border security, the opioid epidemic, and other bipartisan issues. The conversation eventually turned to President Donald Trump. Houlahan took aim at the president’s confrontations with the media while trying to make a case for Trump’s supposed war on democracy.
“I would argue that our president is consistently disruptive in those very same press conferences,” she said.
Her question was quickly checked by Crenshaw, who asked “how is that an attack on the press, though?”
Apparently unable to explain herself, the congresswoman-elect was only able to offer a meager “because it’s literally an attack on the press!”
“Oh, I’ve literally been attacked,” Crenshaw interjected. “So again, let’s choose our words carefully.”
Crenshaw’s campaign website explains that the former Navy SEAL was hit by an improvised explosive device while deployed to Afghanistan in 2012. The blast destroyed his right eye, and he regained complete use of his sight in his left only after multiple surgeries.
That’s what being literally attacked looks like.
A video of the exchange is making its way around Twitter, and can be seen below.
Democrat Chrissy Houlahan claims Trump is attacking the press because he is not nice to them when they are disruptive during press conferences and because he pushes back.

If there’s any question about his priorities, Crenshaw used his introductory remarks on “Face the Nation” to make it exceedingly clear that his role in Washington is as a servant of the people and the Constitution.
“I was in the military for 10 years. I took an oath to the Constitution 12 years ago, and that oath has not ended. It’s really about service,” the congressman-elect said. “It’s about service and it’s about impact. How can I impact the issues that matter to my constituents?”
“We’re still reeling from Hurricane Harvey. We want more individual freedom, we want less government in our lives, and we want to live that American dream. Those are things we can agree on. That’s what I’ll be fighting for.”
With years of political work ahead of him, Crenshaw is looking more and more like a true conservative who will be a powerful force for freedom and liberty in Congress.
