Deep State Strikes Back: FBI Now Being Used To Destroy Kavanaugh Too

Share

They made it clear when he was first nominated by President Donald Trump that they would fight Judge Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation to the Supreme Court.

They vowed to vote “no.”

They have released “bombshell” emails that backfired on them in an attempt to class Kavanaugh as a racist.

The Democrats have even accused him of saying things he never said — when he was really quoting other people.

And now that it appears his confirmation may be imminent, a letter has supposedly surfaced about Kavanaugh that has been turned over to the FBI by Democratic Senator Dianne Feinstein, reported The Hill.

The whole matter is looking more and more like a weird game of hot potato with what some would call “dodgy information.” It began with a Capitol Hill rumor that then led to more.

“Democrats on Thursday began to publicly acknowledge the existence of the letter.”

What is in this bombshell letter? Good question, according to The Hill: “Lawmakers are tightlipped about the contents of the letter and have not publicly disclosed what it says or what it is about, beyond being broadly related to Kavanaugh.”

The Hill wrote that the hot potato game has gone something like this: “Sources told The Intercept that the letter was relayed to lawmakers by an individual affiliated with Stanford University.”

Do you believe the letter is another "nothing burger?"

It reportedly was then passed to California Rep. Anna Eshoo before it made its way to Feinstein.

“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further.”

“I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities.”

It stands to reason that if the letter went to Eshoo and Feinstein, both would have read it. But who else has read it? We know some members of Congress have not seen it:

According to The Intercept, Feinstein didn’t share the letter with fellow democrats, either. And that created some problems.

“Feinstein’s refusal to share the letter has created tension on the committee, particularly after Feinstein largely took a back seat to her more junior colleagues last week, as they took over Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearings with protests around access to documents.” So she had it but said nothing when she could have questioned him about it?

We also now know that the letter has again been hot potato-ed elsewhere. The Washington Post has reportedly written that the FBI passed it on to the White House:

Why would they pass it on? It is apparently just part of the “standard process.”

We know that the letter also allegedly refers to some incident between Kavanaugh and a woman while they were in high school together, according to The Intercept.

“Different sources provided different accounts of the contents of the letter, and some of the sources said they themselves had heard different versions, but the one consistent theme was that it describes an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman while they were in high school.”

Not everyone is sold on the mysterious letter being anything other than one more “nothing burger.” To some it may appear like a new attempt at an old trick:

For others, it just smells fishy, particularly given the hush-hush nature of how it’s been handled. It would have been ideal to question Kavanaugh on it during the hearings. Only now, with a possible impending confirmation is something being done with it.

Many have referred to the Democrats as the “obstructionist” party. They have also been noted for continually going after anyone associated with Trump.

Time will tell what the letter is really all about and what — if anything — there is to it of significance.

In the meantime, Feinstein didn’t do the Democrats any favors in a midterm election year with how she chose to handle something that is allegedly so damaging to a potential Supreme Court Justice.
