'Crazy Faith Ministries' Planning To Bless Planned Parenthood Clinic

“Crazy Faith Ministries.” The name is very telling, particularly in light of what this organization has planned in the days after the election.

Crazy Faith Ministries (yes, that is their real name) will be conducting a blessing outside the Planned Parenthood of Greater Ohio’s East Columbus Surgical Center, according to multiple sources, including The Washington Examiner.

Slated for November 9, the event is taking place because, according to Rev. Susan K. Smith, “Many faith leaders and people of faith hold that accessing and providing abortions are good and godly decisions.”

But not all Christians would agree that the taking of innocent life or the killing of babies in the womb is a “good and godly decision.”

The reverend’s announcement of the event also stated that, “In celebration of conscience and moral decision making, this event will include interfaith blessings, prayers, and testimonies about receiving and providing abortion care. This clinic blessing will create space for progressive voices of faith to speak boldly in support of comprehensive reproductive health care, especially abortion.”

LifeNews reported that the event was organized by The Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice. They also noted that “the pro-abortion ‘blessing’ service appears to be a response to the closing ceremony of the 40 Days for Life campaign. The event is called ‘Holy Ground: Blessing the Sacred Space of Decision.'”

There was backlash to this announcement, perhaps most notably from Franklin Graham, the President of Samaritan’s Purse and the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association. He tweeted his stern condemnation of the event.

It is very concerning & disappointing for those who proclaim faith in God Almighty that they would take a stance against His decrees on this matter(or any of His decisions on all matters) in the name of inclusion/tolerance.

But I’m not surprised, seeing that this way of thinking is starting to become commonplace with some of the members of clergy. Compromise for the ‘seemingly greater good of humanity’ is a new norm.

Now, the official announcement on the Planned Parenthood website, along with the events calendar for the ministry, have no mention of the event. But there is also no official word that the event has been cancelled.

PJ Media noted that (if the event occurs) it would not be the first time an Ohio abortion clinic has been blessed by religious leaders. Back in 2015, the Preterm clinic located in Cleveland, Ohio was blessed. Notably, the blessing occurred “one year after 22-year-old Lakisha Wilson died after going into cardiac arrest during a second trimester abortion at the facility.”

Crazy Faith Ministries notes on its website that it is “not a traditional church.” It lists as “MORAL ISSUES that Ohio officials and candidates for office must address” the issues of “democracy & voting rights, poverty & economic justice, education, healthcare, immigrants’ rights & xenophobia, LGBTQ rights, (and) war-mongering & the military.”
