Watch: CNN Commentator Rants About 'White Male Privilege' and 'Patriarchy' After Kavanaugh Hearing
Investigating a serious accusation is supposed to be about witnesses and evidence … but Democrats and now a left-leaning news outlet are instead making the Kavanaugh hearing about race and gender.
Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh has faced unproven allegations of misconduct from over 35 years ago, plus even more salacious claims that are almost unprintable anywhere besides a trashy tabloid.
As a result, the widely-respected judge has seen his family put through the ringer and his reputation assailed. After essentially being called a criminal monster by accusers — without any solid evidence — Kavanaugh was rightly upset … but now the left is attacking his emotional appearance in front of senators.
On Thursday, outspoken anti-Trump CNN commentator Symone Sanders went on a rant about Judge Kavanaugh.
Was her problem with him that evidence and witnesses had shown him to be guilty? No. Instead, she became unhinged over his race and gender.
The discussion turned ugly when another CNN contributor pointed out that condemning people because they look like they might be criminals, even if evidence says otherwise, is a problem that transcends politics and also impacts minorities in America.
“You are talking about black and brown people in this country,” Sanders spat out, responding to a statement about people who may be falsely accused in America.
“The audacity for you to equate what happens to black people in this country every damn day and the unjust criminal justice system is laughable,” she ranted.
Think about this for a minute: The CNN talking head just declared that only “black people” can ever be falsely accused of a crime, and implied that it’s impossible for a white man — like Kavanaugh — to face unjust charges.
“What we saw today, with Judge Kavanaugh is patriarchy and white male privilege on display,” she bitterly continued.
Yes, in her world, the only possible reason a person who built an impeccable reputation in law and as a family man could become upset over accusations is because of his gender and race.
It couldn’t possibly be that he was deeply shaken by accusations that could destroy his career and every relationship he has. No, not at all.
Show emotion while being accused of heinous crimes with no evidence? White male privilege.
During a different part of the segment on CNN, Sanders doubled down on that absurd claim that being emotional at unproven allegations somehow marred Kavanaugh’s character.
“Unhinged… angry… unrestrained… That’s not someone who looks like a centrist jurist to me,” she declared.
Ironically, Sanders is one of the most frequently-emotional contributors on CNN. One can’t help but wonder how she would react if someone accused her of a serious crime that could destroy her career, and then shoved a camera in her face while demanding she disprove it.
The liberal contributor isn’t the only one who has tried to turn the Kavanaugh circus into a way to bash so-called “white male privilege.” Earlier, Democrat Senator Mazie Hirono of Hawaii literally told men to “shut up” because their voice didn’t matter on the issue.
This is the big problem with “social justice” and identity politics: They are thinly-veiled excuses for a mob mentality, and ironically, promote the very discrimination that liberals pretend to oppose.
By pretending that a person’s race or gender has anything to do with whether or not they committed a crime, people like Sanders are throwing out real evidence-based justice and replacing it with kangaroo courts of public opinion.
In that backwards social justice world, whoever has more “victim points” wins. Kavanaugh is white, male, and successful, so he is at the bottom of the totem pole; his accuser is female, attends liberal rallies wearing a pink hat, and tells an emotional story of victim-hood. She therefore wins, evidence be damned.
This goes far beyond Kavanaugh. If Americans do not pay attention to what is happening and hit the brakes on this mentality, we will find ourselves hurtling down a very slippery slope … and real fact-based justice will be replaced with a flimsy substitute that could impact us all.
