CNN Pres. Calls Fox News 'State-Run TV,' Tucker Puts Him in His Place With a Bombshell

Share

The head of one of the most liberal-leaning news networks on television just made a fool out of himself… and Tucker Carlson immediately put him in his place.

On Thursday, the president of CNN tried to attack rival Fox News by suggesting that it was somehow controlled by the government — but he forgot about the shady dealings his own network practices.

“(Fox News) is really state-run TV,” declared Jeff Zucker, one of the top bosses at CNN. “It is a pure propaganda machine and I think does incredible disservice to this country.”

Yes, in his world, being one of the lone conservative-leaning news sources on television makes Fox “propaganda.” That’s a bit rich coming from CNN, whose own reporters including Donna Brazile were caught using their positions to aid the political campaign of Hillary Clinton.

And let’s not forget that a Harvard University study recently confirmed that CNN has been incredibly biased against Donald Trump.

“Assessing the tone of news coverage, the Harvard researchers found that CNN’s Trump coverage was 93 percent negative, and seven percent positive,” reported the Washington Examiner. That isn’t even close to being balanced, yet the network had the gall to attack Fox as “propaganda.”

“There are a handful of good journalists there (at Fox), but I think they are lost in what is a complete propaganda machine,” the CNN president continued, according to The Hill.

It’s not rare for competitors to jab at each other, but the CNN president’s blatant accusation that Fox was “state-run TV” sent Tucker Carlson over the edge. The Daily Caller founder and Fox commentator tore into Zucker, and reminded viewers of “Tucker Carlson Tonight” what state-run media actually looks like.

Do you believe CNN is more "propaganda" than Fox News?

It turns out that CNN International is in fact a propaganda network. That isn’t an exaggeration: Some of the network’s international branches are literally owned by governments, including authoritarian states.

“Now we know, on some level, all criticism is self-criticism — you accuse others of being secretly what you know you are,” Carlson pointed out.

“As it happens, just today, just as Jeff Zucker was speaking, a controlling interest in CNN Turk…was sold to an arm of the regime there.” He was referring to CNN’s Turkey branch, which was just bought by a mysterious group with connections to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

“Jeff Zucker’s network is now in effect in business with the authoritarian, Islamist, and highly anti-American Erdogan regime,” Carlson continued. “In Turkey, where it actually matters, CNN is literally state-run TV.”

It isn’t just Turkey. Carlson also pointed out that a CNN branch has a similar arrangement in the Philippines, and its news network there is partly controlled by Rodrigo Duterte — a ruthless leader who is at best an autocrat and at worst a dictator.

“Jeff Zucker runs a sleazy little sideline selling airtime to repressive governments in a lot of places around the world,” Carlson concluded.

Once again, the left has shown that they are exactly what they claim to despise. They claim to hate intolerance, yet are increasingly intolerant. They claim to oppose propaganda and censorship, but frequently use those suppression tools to their advantage — even selling out to foreign governments.

It seems the American people are on to the ruse. Fox has continued to dominate the cable news ratings. Contrary to Zucker’s accusation, that isn’t because they’re state-controlled sheep, but because they’ve had enough of the constant leftist drivel being spread by CNN as “news.”
