CBS Shamelessly Runs Program on the Inevitable Assassination of Trump
It is indisputable that much of Hollywood and the mainstream media hold a veritable hatred for President Donald Trump and would like nothing better than to see him promptly removed from office, in any manner necessary.
While such talk usually centers around impeachment or prosecution for alleged crimes, there is also the once-taboo topic of assassination that has increasingly been given attention by the left.
According to Breitbart, the potential assassination of Trump appeared as a focal point and “joke” within a recent episode of “The Good Fight,” which is available only to online subscribers of CBS All Access and stars actress Christine Baranski as a Trump-hating attorney named Diane Lockhart.
In the episode titled “Day 457,” Lockhart was seen in court defending a close friend named Tully Nelson — played by actor Tim Matheson — who had been arrested and charged after he was at a protest that turned into a violent riot.
While waiting to be called before the judge, Nelson tells Lockhart, “I think I’m f—ed. This guy’s a Trump appointee.”
“Alright, just follow my lead and don’t say anything radical,” Lockhart said.
Nelson replied, “Oh, like, ‘We need to assassinate the president?’”
According to Newsbusters, a later scene in the episode showed Lockhart reprimanding Nelson for his remark in his bedroom, whereupon she found a loaded handgun.
“Tell me what you said in court was a joke,” Lockhart demanded.
“Why? You don’t believe in regime change?” Nelson asked.
“You are discussing a crime with your lawyer,” Lockhart cautioned.
Nelson countered and claimed, “No, I’m discussing politics.”
“Violence is not politics,” asserted Lockhart with a shake of her head, but Nelson merely motioned for her to return his gun to him.
She did so, but only after removing the bullets from the magazine. Nelson subtly threatened, “This won’t slow us down.”
The folks behind “The Good Fight” have taken pride in their incessant attacks upon the Trump presidency, and while that has largely consisted of dreaming about impeachment or portraying Trump’s appointees as incompetent idiots — as they portrayed the judge in this episode — the ante has been substantially raised with talk of assassination.
Luckily, the fact “The Good Fight” is relegated to online-only viewing minimizes its reach. But it is more evidence of a manifestation of the left’s Trump Derangement Syndrome that has inspired so much visceral hate toward the president. To be sure, other Republican presidents in the past garnered a level of hate — and there was even talk of assassinating former President George W. Bush — but not to the extreme level the Trump-hate has reached.
Imagine any TV network airing a program that featured serious talk about attempting to assassinate former President Barack Obama. One can only imagine such an occurrence, since the leftists in Hollywood and the media would never allow such a despicable thing to air.
