Biden Blames Trump for Migrant Deaths, But Said Nothing When It Happened on His Watch
Democratic presidential contender Joe Biden tweeted on Wednesday about the now-viral image of a migrant father and daughter who drowned trying to cross the Rio Grande river in an effort to come to America.
“This image is gut-wrenching,” Biden said. And it is.
As a father, I cannot look at the picture without imagining myself in an unsuccessful struggle for survival that ends in my own death and the death of one or more of my children. I sympathize — not as someone who has endured his plight, but as a fellow human — with what might have been going through the father’s head and the desperation he must have been feeling.
At times like this, there is nothing wrong or strategically unsound with expressing empathy for preventable loss of life.
But Biden did not stop at empathy. After only four words, Biden went full steam ahead into a shameless attack of political blame.
“The cruelty we’re seeing at our border is unconscionable,” Biden continued. “History will judge how we respond to the Trump Administration’s treatment of immigrant families & children — we can’t be silent. This isn’t who we are. This is not America.”

While I do not question Biden’s sincerity in the moment, he was not as enthusiastic about blaming the administration for migrant deaths when he was the one in office.
Biden’s tactic did not go noticed by the Director of Breitbart’s Border and Cartel Chronicles, Brandon Darby.
Darby responded to Biden’s tweet, “Sir, the dead bodies of 61 migrants were discovered near our border in one Texas county alone during your final year in the White House. You said nothing.”

And Darby is absolutely correct.
In just Brooks County, Texas, 61 dead migrants were found during Biden’s last year in office. As Breitbart reported, so prolific was the death toll that the location became ominously labeled the “Brooks County killing fields.”
But you can search Biden’s Twitter for all of 2016 and even the next six months without finding one mention of a migrant death.
Even though Darby wrote in April of 2016 a piece titled “Rape Trees, Dead Migrants and the Consequences of an Unsecured Border,” Biden did not tweet a word about the horrors happening along the border. Not a single word.
His silence was as damning then as his hypocrisy is now.
