Unhinged: Behar's Vulgar, Off-Air Attack on Meghan McCain Could Finish Her on 'The View'

If there’s one piece of advice Americans must heed while our nation mourns George H.W. Bush, it’s this: If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.

Unfortunately for “The View” co-host Joy Behar, she may be losing her job after ignoring this wisdom in front of a live studio audience.

According to the U.K. Daily Mail, Behar and co-host Meghan McCain got into the verbal altercation on Monday during a time meant to honor the late president.

Although the segment started on track, Behar soon took it off the rails.

At first, her praise of Bush was centered around his works with environmental statutes, including the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. With no mentions of President Donald Trump however, Behar soon felt the need to add him to the conversation.

“This president that we have now is trying to unravel everything that he did and Obama did, and if I ever become a one-issue voter it will be about pollution and the greenhouse effect –” Behar said, before McCain cut in.

“Can we focus on the president, please. I don’t want to talk about Trump, we’re honoring a great president,” said McCain, daughter of the late Sen. John McCain.

Behar responded and before anyone could get a grip on what was happening, the two quickly began a heated exchange.

Whoopi Goldberg, the show’s ringmaster, was forced to step in. Over the shouting she simply looked into the camera and said, “You know what? We’ll be right back.” The cameras then cut away.

A video clip of the shouting match can be seen below.

The real “Mean Girls” material reportedly only started after the cameras cut to commercial. Producers were even forced to cut Behar’s microphone when she began to curse at McCain.

A source told the Daily Mail that Behar threw her hands up in frustration before yelling “My God!’ and ‘Get this b—- under control.”

At one point, the newspaper reported, Behar even threatened to leave the program entirely.

“If this s— doesn’t stop I’m quitting this damn show. I can’t take this much more,” Behar said, according to the Daily Mail.

Would you like to see Joy Behar lose her job on "The View"?

“I’ve tolerated a lot of s— on this show but I’m at my wits’ end with this entitled b—-. Enough already! Enough already! I’m not playing nice any longer.”

Producers of the show were reportedly forced to rush the stage as Behar continued to rant and curse in front of a stunned studio audience.

McCain expressed disbelief at her co-host’s actions, reportedly saying, “I just wanted her to focus on President Bush and not bring Trump into this for once.”

Although Behar recently celebrated her 20-year anniversary on the show according to its Twitter account, it does not make her immune to being fired. A profanity-laced tirade, especially one in front of a live audience that includes a threat to quit, is never good during performance reviews.

Her already-shaky reputation may take an even worse blow. While she may have been building an image the past few decades, one vulgar rant is often all it takes to end up on your fans’ bad side.

ABC execs might be tempted to take her up on that “quitting” business.
