Avenatti Makes Tucker Carlson His New Target By Releasing Video of 'Incident' That Shows Nothing

UPDATE: Shortly after the publication of this article, Fox News reached out to The Western Journal with a statement from Tucker Carlson. This article was updated Monday morning to include the full text of his statement, edited only to censor the worst of the profanity.

Perhaps it’s because he’s been out of the spotlight too long. Perhaps he didn’t feel he was making enough headway with his attacks on President Donald Trump.

Or maybe the timing was too perfect to pass up. After all, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson was just recently the victim of a leftist mob when they showed up at his home, scaring his wife who was there alone.

Whatever his motivation, Michael Avenatti, known as the ‘creepy porn lawyer’ for representing adult film actress and stripper Stormy Daniels in her failed lawsuit against the president, has put Carlson in his sights.

He released two tweets, with video, that explain — sort of — what he is up to. But the video doesn’t match what he is claiming.

In the first tweet, he wrote, “We are investigating an alleged assault on a gay latino immigrant committed by T. Carlson and/or members of his inner circle at a club in VA in Oct. It likely includes underage drinking in violation of VA law. Link to a portion of the incident:”

Viewers please be advised. The “f-bomb” is used multiple times in the video included in the tweet.

In the second tweet Avenatti wrote, “We are attempting to locate additional witnesses and to identify those depicted in the video. In particular, we need assistance identifying the balding man that grabs the man seated at the bar. We anticipate charges being filed. Anyone with knowledge, pls contact us.”

When confronted about the discrepancy between the first tweet and the video, Avenatti again attempted to blame Carlson for the alleged violence. He did so by citing his foul language.

He wrote, “You mean other than Tucker repeatedly cursing a guy out seated at the bar while a friend/associate of his makes a bee line for the guy, grabs him off his chair, and then threatens violence?”

Of course, cursing is not violence and Carlson is clearly not the person interacting with the man at the bar.

In the video, someone can be heard saying “There’s no excuse for violence,” Business Insider noted, but that still does not explain how Carlson would be at fault.

Do you believe the video is a big "nothing burger?"

Avenatti also mentioned “underage drinking” in his first tweet. Carlson is clearly of legal age to be in a bar and to drink alcohol. So what is the point?

Guilt by association, perhaps. Or maybe just a general smear by association.

Avenatti has appeared on Carlson’s show and it did not go well for him. The video clip in the following tweet is a bit long, but it shows the entire exchange between the two — and why Avenatti might feel he had a score to settle with the Fox News host.

Avenatti is also known for representing an accuser against then-Supreme Court Justice nominee Brett Kavanaugh, but the woman later recanted some of her claims, according to Life News.

USA Today reported just days ago that both Julie Swetnick and Avenatti were among multiple people Republican Sen. Chuck Grassley has asked federal authorities to investigate in relation to alleged false allegations made against Kavanaugh.

On Saturday, Fox News reached out to The Western Journal with the following statement from Carlson:

On October 13, I had dinner with two of my children and some family friends at the Farmington Country Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. Toward the end of the meal, my 19-year-old daughter went to the bathroom with a friend. On their way back through the bar, a middle aged man stopped my daughter and asked if she was sitting with Tucker Carlson. My daughter had never seen the man before. She answered: “That’s my dad,” and pointed to me. The man responded, “Are you Tucker’s whore?” He then called her a “f—ing c—.’

My daughter returned to the table in tears. She soon left the table and the club. My son, who is also a student, went into the bar to confront the man. I followed. My son asked the man if he’d called his sister a “whore” and a “c—.” The man admitted he had, and again become profane. My son threw a glass of red wine in the man’s face and told him to leave the bar, which he soon did.

Immediately after the incident, I described these events to the management of the Farmington Country Club. The club spent more than three weeks investigating the incident. Last week, they revoked the man’s membership and threw him out of the club.

I love my children. It took enormous self-control not to beat the man with a chair, which is what I wanted to do. I think any father can understand the overwhelming rage and shock that I felt seeing my teenage daughter attacked by a stranger. But I restrained myself. I did not assault this man, and neither did my son. That is a lie. Nor did I know the man was gay or Latino, not that it would have mattered. What happened on October 13 has nothing to do with identity politics. It was a grotesque violation of decency. I’ve never seen anything like it in my life.
