AOC, Omar Lock Horns With Pelosi, Claim They Are 'Wielding The Power'
The old guard versus the new blood. Establishment Democrats against the freshmen progressives — who will win out in 2020?
It’s a congressional fight that could dictate the future of the Democratic Party — or even America — and it’s happening before our very eyes.
Over the weekend, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi dismissed four Democratic representatives who decided to vote against $4.6 billion emergency bill that was passed to aid the humanitarian crisis at the southern U.S. border. It was signed into law last month.
“All these people have their public whatever and their Twitter world,” Pelosi said, according to National Review. “But they didn’t have any following. They’re four people and that’s how many votes they got.”
Those four individuals are Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib — and they all railed against Pelosi upon seeing her disparaging comments. Let’s just say that they weren’t happy.
“That public ‘whatever’ is called public sentiment,” AOC tweeted. “And wielding the power to shift it is how we actually achieve meaningful change in this country.”

“I find it strange when members act as though social media isn’t important,” Ocasio-Cortez said. She added that she doesn’t “believe it was a good idea for Dems to blindly trust the Trump admin when so many kids have died in their custody. It’s a huge mistake.”
Rep. Omar echoed Ocasio-Cortez’s words, posting on her own Twitter page that Pelosi’s attack was “Patetico!” adding, “You know they’re just salty about WHO is wielding the power to shift ‘public sentiment’ these days, sis. Sorry not sorry.”

On ABC, Tlaib jumped in and dealt a blow of her own to Pelosi, saying, “It is very disappointing that the speaker would ever try to diminish our voices in so many ways. You know, people like us, people like me and Ayanna, Ilhan, and Alexandria, we’re reflective of our nation in many ways.”
Then, in typical radical leftist fashion, she even whipped out the old stand-by — the race card.
“Guess what? We know what it feels like to be dehumanized,” Tlaib continued. “We know what it feels like to be brown and black in this country. And I’ll tell you right now, we’re not going to stand by and sit idly by and allow brown and dark-skinned children to be ripped away from their parents to be dehumanized.”
The fight has been an ongoing one, as Pelosi downplayed the radical group of leftists in April, saying their faction consists of “like five people.”
“By and large, whatever orientation they came to Congress with, they know that we have to hold the center. That we have to go down the mainstream,” Pelosi said. That was a clear warning to the radical group that going too far left, which they’ve already done, will do nothing except hurt their chances in future elections, especially in 2020.
The infighting within the Democratic Party could be an alarming indication of what’s to come.
The establishment — dare I say “moderate” — Democrats want to stay in power and the new blood, like Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib, want to put America on its knees by bankrupting the nation with climate change legislation that will cost trillions and ensuring that our borders become less and less secure.
If the far-left socialist lawmakers continue to make headway, there could come a time when conservatives long for the days of lawmakers like Pelosi and Sen. Chuck Schumer to be in charge.
Republicans cannot allow socialists like Ocasio-Cortez, Omar and Tlaib to get a firm grasp on America. Their plans for rampant spending and uncontrollable government must be exposed.
If we let up even once, there’s no telling how much could be lost at the hands of these radical progressives who wield so much power and unfortunately have so much influence on younger generations.
Conservatives must remain vigilant and continue to fight the good fight.
