Trump-Hating Alec Baldwin's New Show Literally Couldn't Have Ranked Lower in Ratings

Share

He’s portrayed President Donald Trump on “Saturday Night Live” and has made no secret of his disdain for the commander in chief. However, when it comes to how to really draw in a crowd, he may wish to take a few pointers from his foe, who continually packs the house at campaign rallies.

Actor Alec Baldwin’s new show, bearing his name, is running on ABC, the same network that infamously fired comedian and Trump-supporter Roseanne Barr over a tweet. His first show Sunday night featured fellow actor and Trump-hater Robert De Niro.

Despite the celebrity big names, the show tanked in the ratings. In fact, according to Fox News, “The Alec Baldwin Show” was the “lowest-rated program in the (18-49) demo of any broadcast network — including the CW.”

That’s right. Dead last. Couldn’t be ranked any lower.

It obtained just a 0.4 in the Nielsen ratings for the demographic, which is highly favored by advertisers. That kind of rating for a show certainly isn’t, though.

For all the talk the left does claiming liberals make up the majority of America, radio and television ratings, including for “The Alec Baldwin Show” say otherwise. Recently, CNN’s Don Lemon and Chris Cuomo wasted time in a segment of Lemon’s show to mock Fox’s Tucker Carlson.

Not only are both being trounced by Carlson in ratings, but CNN is losing to Fox, as well. It seems the left never learns. Many Americans just aren’t buying what liberals are selling.

Hollywood and the establishment media continually make and promote this stuff. Perhaps being so frequently based on the coasts, liberal elitism has put them out of touch with mainstream America.

Baldwin recently called for the “overthrow” of Trump and his administration. It looks like Baldwin’s the one being overthrown via ratings.

And the general point many have made is that no one is interested in the Trump-bashing anymore from anyone, including some on the left.

It is old, tired and divisive. But liberals don’t seem to get that.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Baldwin claimed, “I don’t know how to say this and I don’t want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off, but” — and here it comes — “ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me.”

He elaborated, “Everywhere I go, black people go crazy. I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump. I’m not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, ‘This is going to be bad for black folks.'”

However, People magazine reported that Baldwin got “blasted” on social media for his comments.

Perhaps the ratings news has come as a shock to Baldwin. No one goes into such a venture thinking it will fail.

Do you think Baldwin's show is going to be a dismal failure?

To continue on the Trump-bashing journey indicates he may believe it is popular among Americans outside of his coastal enclaves. If the ratings don’t help him see the truth, will anything?

It is one thing to utilize free speech to express diverse political opinions. It is something else entirely to attempt to make bank on selling what relatively few are buying.

And that is what Hollywood and the establishment media seem dead-set on doing. Cutting off their noses to spite their faces all in a desperate attempt to push their narrative. A narrative most, it seems, don’t care to hear anymore.
