Everybody Knows Acosta's Banned, But Not Everybody Knows What Sarah Said About It
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders perfectly explained on Twitter Wednesday evening why CNN reporter Jim Acosta had his White House press pass revoked.
After the dust settled Wednesday evening, and everybody was already talking about Acosta’s misconduct during President Donald Trump’s news conference, Sanders carefully outlined the situation and explained why his press pass was revoked.
“President Trump believes in a free press and expects and welcomes tough questions of him and his Administration,” Sanders prefaced on Twitter, “We will, however, never tolerate a reporter placing his hands on a young woman just trying to do her job as a White House intern.”

Acosta, the reporter in question, responded with, “This is a lie.”
However, video evidence shows Acosta chopping the woman’s arm.

Sanders went on to condemn Acosta’s conduct.
“This conduct is absolutely unacceptable. It is also completely disrespectful to the reporter’s colleagues not to allow them an opportunity to ask a question. President Trump has given the press more access than any President in history,” Sanders wrote.

That’s true. Acosta always tries to make a spectacle of himself during White House events and news conferences, and it’s completely disrespectful to other reporters who want to ask questions.
However, as Sanders pointed out, that is not going to stop CNN from falsely claiming Trump is against freedom of the press.
“There is no greater demonstration of the President’s support for a free press than the event he held today. Only they would attack the President for not supporting a free press in the midst of him taking 68 questions from 35 different reporters over the course of 1.5 hours including several from the reporter in question,” Sanders continued

…over the course of 1.5 hours including several from the reporter in question. The fact that CNN is proud of the way their employee behaved is not only disgusting, it‘s an example of their outrageous disregard for everyone, including young women, who work in this Administration

Sanders is once again spot-on. This isn’t the first time she has shut down Acosta, but it’s still just as satisfying each time.
She delivered the final blow by announcing the White House’s decision to revoke Acosta’s press pass.
“As a result of today’s incident, the White House is suspending the hard pass of the reporter involved until further notice,” Sanders said.
