What We Saw Done to the Covington Kids Is Exactly What Leftist 'Compassion' Looks Like

Share

It was a disgraceful display of the left’s feeding frenzy when it comes to being the first to bash rather than the first to be accurate. When the Covington Catholic school story went viral the establishment media was quick to condemn the teens without any facts.

The bottom line for the left seems to be that if you disagree with them on any issue, as the teens did by being part of the March for Life pro-life event, you will be figuratively annihilated.

Unless the death threats that naturally ensue come to fruition. Then it will be literal annihilation.

Welcome to leftist “compassion.” The “spark of divinity” in the MAGA hat-wearing boys must have been missed.

The Western Journal’s Josh Manning gave the rundown of how the shameful events unfolded. As his Western Journal TV report makes clear, “This isn’t just one crazy leftist. This hate is everywhere, and it’s literally endangering children just because the left doesn’t like them.”

The story began when a video clip went viral along with a narrative about the “hateful, bigoted” MAGA-hat wearing teens. It wasn’t just reported that way on social media, the establishment media went wild with it, too.

Should the media be sued for their false reports about the Covington Catholic teens?

Of course, Hollywood jumped into the fray, too. One disgusting example came from comedian and actress Kathy Griffin who called for the minors to be doxed.

WARNING: The following tweets contain vulgar language that some viewers may find offensive.

As Manning pointed out, the only reason to dox people — that is, to publicly reveal personal information such as their full name and address — is so they can then be targeted for harassment. Remember, this middle-aged woman called for this to be done to minors.

Other Hollywood types outright called for violence against the teens or suggested they deserved it. Again, this is adults talking in favor of physical violence against children.

The Wheeler Walker Jr. tweet has since disappeared, but Twitter remembers. One user quoted it and added a link, which now goes to a “Sorry, that page doesn’t exist” message.

When other videos of the event came to light, it was clear that the teens had been wrongly accused and treated very unfairly. But for the sake of argument, let’s say that they behaved badly and did what they were accused of doing.

Would that make doxing them okay? Would that make calls for violence and the death threats they received acceptable? Not in a civilized society, it wouldn’t.

And what about establishment media and Hollywood types spewing such vitriol toward children over a brief, selectively edited video clip? How is that okay? Hint: it isn’t.

As Manning points out, there are some takeaways to be found in all of this. One is how much the coastal elites are out of touch with heartland America.

Moderate Democrats don’t behave this way. It is the far-left fringe that acts in such a rabid fashion.

Another is that quite clearly, establishment media cannot be trusted to report with accuracy. People need to do their own fact-checking first, before believing what they are being told.

Legal action can be taken by the families of the Covington Catholic teens against the establishment media. Watching justice being served could be an entertaining and welcomed relief.

Manning also pointed out how it serves the left well to call for Americans to be disarmed. That makes violence that much easier for them to carry out against their “enemies” on the right.
