'Biohazard' Occupy ICE Camp Makes Border Detention Facilities Look Like Taj Mahal

Share

You think illegal immigrants detained by Immigration and Customs Enforcement have it bad? Wait until you see what the people who want to abolish ICE are living in.

City officials in Portland, Oregon, will be cleaning up an Occupy ICE camp that is described as a “biohazard,” KPTV-TV reports.

The city and TriMet, who own the land where the camp was set up, will both foot part of the bill for the cleanup.

The site was cleared earlier in the week by the city.

“Even after receiving orders from Mayor Ted Wheeler to leave on Monday, Occupy ICE PDX leaders affirmed they would not,” KPTV reported.

“But, at around 4:15 a.m. Wednesday, Portland police entered the camp, clearing protesters. Chief Danielle Outlaw says they did so without issuing any tickets or making any arrests.”

“For the most part everything was done with very little incident,” Outlaw said.

Cleaning out protesters is one thing. However, cleaning out the filth that they were living in is another issue entirely. The area is now littered with trash.

Do you think these protesters should clean up after themselves?

“It was pretty disgusting that that’s how they were living back there,” Frank Savage, who lives across the street from the site, told KPTV.

“Getting tired of waking up to the bullhorn and the sounds and the cussing,” he added.

Of all the Occupy ICE groups, Occupy ICE PDX was one of the largest and most visible. The group made news with a mock-beheading of Donald Trump with a guillotine that was posted on social media.

This is the second time that the group has been cleared out of an encampment, according to Fox News. Last month, Homeland Security police moved protesters away from an ICE building they were trying to block. During that fracas, activists chanted “No racist police!” and called them “Nazis.”

Now, these individuals have turned a corner of one of the most gentrified, hipster-friendly cities in America into a third-world hovel so full of trash that it had to be declared a biohazard.

Yet, these are the people who want to dictate how children who are detained in conditions far better than this are kept. What a joke.

These liberals did all this to protest ICE. What they probably should have protested is incarceration. After all, according to KPTV, it looks like prison labor will be part of the cleanup force — and, given the looks of things, I don’t know if there’s anyone that deserves that kind of punishment.
