'Almost Worthy of ISIS': LA Sheriff Unloads on Protesters Blocking Hospital Entrance
Protesters who chanted “we hope they die” while blocking ambulance exits and entrances at a hospital were compared to ISIS by the Los Angeles County sheriff on Tuesday, Fox News reported.
Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva said that the protesters were “something almost worthy of ISIS” on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom.”
“It’s just a new low for the hatred that I don’t think anyone in this nation has ever seen before,” Villanueva said.
Police declared the protest an unlawful assembly and ordered the crowd to disperse, according to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department.
One male protester was arrested for refusing to comply with police dispersal orders.
A woman was also arrested after she rushed officers who were arresting the man and failed to identify herself as a member of the media first.
“We just don’t expect it on our own shores and we have been here fighting to save people’s lives across the county — it doesn’t matter who you are and it is not something we are going to expect or tolerate,” Villanueva added.
Two sheriff’s deputies were shot in Compton while they sat in their patrol vehicle on Saturday.
The deputies sustained multiple gunshot wounds and were taken to a hospital where they underwent surgery.
