Alabama Stands Up to Libs Again, Refuses To Air Gay Episode of Kids TV Show
Alabama Public Television is standing up to the left’s tactic of forcing its worldview on children by refusing to air a new episode of the popular children’s cartoon “Arthur” that revolves around a same-sex marriage ceremony.
The 22nd season premiere, “Mr. Ratburn and the Special Someone,” featured the same same-sex wedding of Arthur’s teacher, Mr. Ratburn, and another male named Patrick.
Arthur and other third-grade students were present at the wedding, as the following video clip of the episode shows:
Mike McKenzie, the director of programming for APT, said the same-sex marriage episode isn’t suitable for unsupervised children, according to NBC News.
“Although we strongly encourage parents to watch television with their children and talk about what they have learned afterwards — parents trust that their children can watch APT without their supervision. We also know that children who are younger than the ‘target’ audience for ‘Arthur’ also watch the program,” McKenzie said. “Because of this, we felt it would be a violation of trust to broadcast the episode.”
McKenzie explained that most parents wouldn’t have heard about the episode, and many of those parents may not want their children to watch TV shows about homosexuality.
“The vast majority of parents will not have heard about the content, whether they agree with it or not,” he said.
Instead of airing the episode, APT aired a rerun.
Arkansas has joined Alabama in refusing to air the same-sex marriage episode of “Arthur,” according to KHBS-TV.
“While ideally parents watch our programming with their children and discuss it afterwards, the reality is that many children, some of them younger than age four, watch when a parent is not in the room,” Arkansas Educational Television Network said.
“In realizing that many parents may not have been aware of the topics of the episode beforehand, we made the decision not to air it.”
APT’s bold move is likely to enrage leftists who are already upset with Alabama for the state’s new abortion law.
Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey signed a bill last Thursday that effectively bans abortion in most cases.
It’s not just Alabama. States nationwide are defending the sanctity of human life, with Ohio and Georgia recently passing laws that ban abortion after a heartbeat is detected.
Conservatives are standing up to the left by defending family values, and it’s having a nationwide impact.
