Classy James Woods Rises Above Political Fray, Congratulates Ruth Bader Ginsburg
In a classy movie, actor James Woods set aside politics to congratulate Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg for defeating her latest cancer threat.
“Genuinely glad #JusticeGinsburg has beat this latest cancer threat. She has shown tremendous courage,” Woods tweeted Saturday.

Woods can be a harsh conservative critic at times, but he’s setting a good precedent here by congratulating Ginsburg despite political differences.
Conservatives have their issues with Ginsburg’s politics, but that shouldn’t get in the way of compassion and civility.
Ginsburg should receive a warm welcome back, and liberals should do the same if a conservative judge was in the same position.
Hopefully, this new trend of compassion will catch on among liberals as well, because they desperately need it.
For now, at least Twitter users seemed to echo Woods’ kind words.
Amen, no matter our political differences, good people everywhere !

Ginsburg’s health has been a topic of discussion since her surgery in December, when doctors removed two malignant nodules from her left lung.
Since the surgery, the 85-year-old judge has been away from work and canceled multiple public appearances.
Ginsburg also missed two weeks of arguments in January, which was rare for a judge who has never missed an argument during her 25 years as a justice, according to The New York Times.
Now Ginsburg is finally back at work for the first time since surgery; the liberal judge attended a private conference with the other justices on Friday.
“Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg returned to the Supreme Court on Friday to participate in a private conference at which the justices considered adding cases to the court’s docket,” The Times reported.
But Ginsburg’s health problems will likely continue being a topic of discussion as the elderly judge continues to grow older.
That’s not to say Ginsburg’s health isn’t a discussion worth having, because it’s certainly relevant, but that doesn’t mean the topic can’t be approached with civility and compassion as Woods displayed.
Woods’ comments are refreshing at a time when the political climate is more divisive than ever.
