Watch: Moderator Awkwardly Stalls for 50 Seconds Hoping Hillary Will Stop Coughing Long Enough To Answer Question
Former Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton kicked off a speaking tour Tuesday night, but things went sour when she couldn’t stop coughing long enough to answer a question.
Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, started their “An Evening with the Clintons” tour in Toronto.
The tour’s official website describes it as a “one-of-a-kind conversation with two individuals who have helped shape our world and had a front seat to some of the most important moments in modern history.”
Chances are that you won’t be able to witness this “one-of-a-kind conversation” unless you’re willing to pay $70 for a back-row seat or up to $400 for a front-row seat.
Fortunately, someone recorded the best part of Tuesday night’s event.
At one point, Hillary Clinton started coughing uncontrollably when the moderator began to ask a question.
“Let me ask, uh, a question, um, a serious question and then maybe we’ll end up on a little bit of a lighter note,” the moderator began as Clinton continued to cough and reached out for some water.
The moderator, who seemed increasingly nervous as she coughed, made his question as long as possible.
“The United States pulled out of the Paris Climate Accords, every other country in the world is a contributor. I guess my question to you is, because this is very difficult for Canada …” the moderator dragged on.
Eventually, his long-winded question came to an end as he gave Bill Clinton an opportunity to save his wife from answering.
“To either one of you, is there any doubt on this?” the moderator said.
The former president immediately began to answer the question as his wife continued to struggle.
This isn’t the first time the former presidential candidate’s health has come into question.
During her 2016 campaign, there were several instances where Clinton seemed unwell.
At one point during her campaign, Clinton seemed to faint as she was trying to enter a vehicle.

She also had several coughing fits, including a 68-second episode during an event in Harlem and an even longer fit during a speech in Cleveland.
Despite the health questions surrounding the 71-year-old former secretary of state, rumors persist that she will make another presidential run in 2020.
If Clinton is seriously thinking about running again, she might want to pick up some cough drops.
