Mom Stumbles Onto Cell Phone Video of 19-Year-Old Man Allegedly Raping Her Baby
Two men are under arrest after a mother stumbled upon a cell phone video showing a 19-year-old man raping her 9-month-old baby, according to WHBQ-TV.
On Tuesday, Isiah Dequan Hayes, 19, and Daireus Jumare Ice, 22, were indicted on charges they sexually abused the infant.
While the video was undated, an affidavit filed by the child’s mother dates from October of 2016.
Reports say that the mother told police that she was going through images on her cell phone when she found the disturbing footage featuring Hayes and her child.
“In one of those videos the suspect could reportedly be seen exposing and touching himself with the child, who was nude from the waist down, still in view,” WREG-TV reported.
“In another, the man was seen performing sex acts on the child, police said.”
WREG and WHBQ reported that the mother was later able to identify the man who was allegedly raping her child through Facebook.
However, a report from The Associated Press seemed to imply that she was able to recognize the man directly from the video.
Hayes, according to police, was the individual involved in the assault, while Ice was the one behind the camera.
It may have taken a while for the wheels of justice to move. However, on Tuesday — nearly two years after the assault was discovered — both Hayes and Ice were indicted by a grand jury on charges related to the assault.
Hayes faces charges of aggravated rape of a child and especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor.
Ice, meanwhile, faced charges of especially aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and being responsible for Hayes’ conduct during the aggravated rape of a child.
Both men are currently being held in the Shelby County Jail awaiting trial on the charges.

No word yet on a trial date for either one of these individuals, although one certainly hopes that it happens sooner than two years from now.
However, one can understand the delay in bringing these men to justice given the scanty evidence that authorities had to go off of in the case.
And, if these two men are found guilty, one thing is for certain — there’s going to be a much longer delay in them seeing the light of day.
