Respected Conservative: Left Used Every Trick With Kavanaugh, Next Time Violence Is All They'll Have
After the latest round of accusations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh was published on Sunday, a prominent conservative had a grim warning:
Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, said that “violence” is the only way that Democrats could escalate their war on conservative judicial picks — and the next “nominee & Senate Judiciary GOPs will be lucky to avoid assassination.”
Krikorian, possibly best known as an outspoken critic of the Obama administration’s illegal immigration policies, made the remark in a Twitter post after The New Yorker published an assault allegation against President Donald Trump’s second Supreme Court pick — this time from a student who went to Yale with Kavanaugh named Deborah Ramirez.
In the piece, Ramirez claims that Kavanaugh exposed himself to her during a drunken fraternity party, something that Kavanaugh has denied.
As with the allegation made by University of Palo Alto Professor Christine Blasey Ford, there wasn’t any corroboration.
This time, there was even more doubt cast upon the allegation than there was on Ford’s story, given that Ramirez admitted “her memories contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident,” and no witnesses with first-hand knowledge of the incident backed her up.
“In her initial conversations with The New Yorker, she was reluctant to characterize Kavanaugh’s role in the alleged incident with certainty,” the New Yorker piece.
“After six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney, Ramirez said that she felt confident enough of her recollections to say that she remembers Kavanaugh had exposed himself at a drunken dormitory party, thrust his penis in her face, and caused her to touch it without her consent as she pushed him away.”
Yes, “(a)fter six days of carefully assessing her memories and consulting with her attorney.” If that doesn’t inspire confidence in a story, nothing will.
Meanwhile, Kavanaugh himself told Fox News he has no plans to withdraw from the nomination fight.

Given the fact that the piece in The New Yorker seemed fairly flimsy, it left many conservatives wondering whether it was a deliberate attack. One of them was Krikorian, who didn’t seem to wonder so much as believe without question that it was meant as part of a smear campaign.
And he predicted even worse if Trump gets to nominate replacements for Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg or Stephen Breyer.
The sinister & depraved campaign against Kavanaugh leaves the Left only one place to go if/when RBG or Breyer are replaced by Trump/GOP Senate — violence. The nominee & Senate Judiciary GOPs will be lucky to avoid assassination.

“The sinister & depraved campaign against Kavanaugh leaves the Left only one place to go if/when RBG or Breyer are replaced by Trump/GOP Senate — violence,” Krikorian wrote Sunday evening.
“The nominee & Senate Judiciary GOPs will be lucky to avoid assassination.”
Is that an overstatement? Well, there really aren’t a whole lot of other places to go if you believe this is a smear campaign.
Liberals tried to kill the Gorsuch nomination by claiming he was an extremist. That didn’t work.
If Kavanaugh is confirmed, that will mean smear campaigns won’t have worked, either — whether the campaigns were ideological or personal in nature.
If liberals justices Breyer or Ginsburg leave the court for any reason, that means liberals won’t have many ways to stop a conservative from taking their seats on the court.
What will happen is a scary thought indeed. I don’t know if it will involve violence, but one thing is for certain: It won’t be pretty.
And that, for the left, will be the entire point.
