Celebrities React to John McCain's Death by Attacking Trump
Any politician accrues rivalries in life. This is a given in a field where conflict is inevitable. And normally, these rivalries are put aside in death.
As you are no doubt aware by now, Sen. John McCain of Arizona died of brain cancer Saturday at the age of 81. He was first elected to Congress in 1982 and did not shy away from a fight. He would reach across the aisle to members of the Democrat Party if he liked them, but he would have no qualms about publicly fighting with fellow Republicans if he did not like them.
John McCain did not like Donald Trump. This is a fact that will surprise no American.
Even players in the roughest of contact sports will pause to pay their utmost respects, however, when a gladiator is taken off of the field. Rivalries tend to melt away, at least for a moment of silence.
That’s especially true when that gladiator isn’t just a metaphorical one. McCain spent five-and-a-half years as a POW in Vietnam, undergoing torture so brutal he couldn’t lift either of his arms above his head for the decades he lived afterwards.
It is a time when all pause and remember the life of someone who gave so much, no matter what their differences may have been, in the field of policy.
Celebrities with the courtside seats, however, were more than willing to use the death of a man to bludgeon another politician they didn’t like.
Breitbart compiled just a few of the grotesqueries we saw from the blue-checkmarked contingent on Twitter in the wake of McCain’s death.

Griffin would later clarify that “Couldn’t disagree more with Senator McCain on policy” but that she thought he was a hero, a sentiment I’m not certain she expressed during the 2008 campaign or at any time before he became useful in her bizarre jihad against the president.
Vox, meanwhile, tweeted this and quickly deleted it:

Just out of curiosity — did any of these liberal individuals or organizations think they were doing the McCain family or American politics a favor by acting this atrociously when the White House was treating this with the gravity it deserved? I can’t see how anyone would arrive at that conclusion. This is beyond sick for anyone — left or right.
