Kyle Kashuv Owns Chelsea Handler for Most Ignorant Gun Tweet Ever

Share

Of all of the activists who have sprung up in the wake of the Parkland shooting, the most salient — as well as the most sane and entertaining — has to be Kyle Kashuv.

Yes, Kashuv hasn’t gotten the same attention from the media as David Hogg or Emma Gonzalez, mostly because he’s pro-gun and they, well, aren’t. He’s also got liberal journalist Kurt Eichenwald stalking him and implying the Parkland student is mentally ill (I think this might be projection), as well as a media that addresses him skeptically if at all.

Kashuv, however, has developed a unique media presence, particularly on platforms like Twitter. In fact, he manages to excoriate liberals for excessively stupid statements on an almost daily basis.

His latest target was Chelsea Handler. Handler, the one-time talk show host, recently got involved in a Twitter battle over the fact that she’s protected by armed guards even as she calls for gun control. (The genesis of the debate, a Handler rant about Trump tweeting his support for the Second Amendment, is more or less irrelevant as these things go.)

This is an interesting response on a number of levels. First, Handler says that if Republicans are against abortion, they cannot be against gun control, because what about the children?! Handler predictably elides the fact that the GOP has proposed several measures to keep students safe, but since they don’t include the kind of stringent gun control the Democrats want, liberals don’t want to hear about them.

Oh, and her armed guards “aren’t killing children and don’t have semi-automatic weapons?” Well, first, they would kill children if children threatened her with a gun or another weapon. In terms of not having semi-automatic weapons, you may want to look into new guards. One would hope they actually had semi-auto handguns and not WWI service pistols.

Kashuv noticed this incongruity and had the perfect response:

This is, again, the problem with the left’s position on guns: They don’t know what the heck they’re talking about.

When the words “semi-automatic weapon” make an appearance, what anti-gun liberals think of is the AR-15, the newest firearm bogeyman of the media.

Do you think Handler could stand to learn a thing or two about guns?

Articles upon articles could be dedicated to the fact that the AR-15 poses no inherent danger greater than a handgun, at least in mass shootings, but that’s not for today. What is worth noting is how little an extremely vocal gun-grabber like Handler knows about what constitutes semi-automatic.

Of course, since Handler thinks these weapons cause a problem, she can always go the U.K. way and get sporks.

Maybe she can mount them on top of ill-tempered sea bass. After all, nobody really needs sharks with laser beams, even if they’re a supervillain.

Either way, another hilarious riposte from Kashuv.
