Hardee's Has Internet in Stitches After Trolling Philly Following the Super Bowl
To say the city of Philadelphia was ecstatic over the Eagles Super Bowl win on Sunday would be the understatement of the year. After it was clear that the Eagles won, fans took to the streets of Philly to celebrate.
Some, however, went way overboard, there were reports of stores being vandalized, guys climbing up light posts, and even one fan eating horse poop.
NBC reported that, “Some of the pockets of unruly fans clambered atop the awning at the swanky Ritz Carlton Hotel near City Hall. At least a dozen people who climbed on top of an awning, which toppled to the street when the structure collapsed Sunday night.”
The Post-Standard of Syracuse, N.Y., even reported an unconfirmed rumor that an ostrich had been stolen from the local zoo. Weird.
One video even shows looters breaking into a store shouting, “Everything is free!”

However, despite the looters and craziness that occurred in the streets of Philly, Hardee’s lifted the mood with a hilarious tweet.
It perfectly matched the mood of the crowd with a good dose of humor — and at the same time carried an important message even the most raucous Eagles fan could not have missed. (It’s almost as memorable as the Eagles’ unlikely victory was in the first place.)
We are excited to serve everyone biscuits tomorrow morning at our Philadelphia location but in order to do that it needs to be not burned down please

Apparently, the internet loved it. As of Wednesday evening, the tweet had been liked over 228,000 times and re-tweeted over 53,000 times.
Some fans loved it so much, they chimed in on the post.

Make no mistake, there’s no excuse for the kind of looting and rioting that took place Sunday night in Philadelphia. Winning a football game is not an excuse for lawlessness.
However, Hardee’s might have won the internet for 2018 with that tweet. They absolutely burned the rioters all the while invoking a little humor into the situation.
Well done, Hardee’s. Well, done.
