Trump Eviscerates Schumer With Brutal Tweet Following Gov't Shutdown
After Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer shut the federal government down over the weekend in a failed attempt to force Republicans to renew an Obama-era program for illegal aliens, President Donald Trump trolled the New York Democrat in a way that had to sting.
On Tuesday, Trump fired back at “Cryin'” Chuck for offering, then rescinding, a deal to support funding for the border wall in exchange for offering protection to the roughly 800,000 illegal immigrant beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
Trump made it clear that Schumer would be wise not to overplay his hand again after suffering such a “humiliating defeat” when he shut the federal government down for three days to prioritize illegals over Americans.
Cryin’ Chuck Schumer fully understands, especially after his humiliating defeat, that if there is no Wall, there is no DACA. We must have safety and security, together with a strong Military, for our great people!

“If there is no Wall, there is no DACA,” Trump wrote.
As noted by SarahPalinBlog.com, Trump and Republicans are not backing down from the main principles they have laid out in exchange for a pathway to normalizing the estimated 700,000 DACA beneficiaries
Trump wants funding for the border wall, an end to the immigration lottery, and limitations on chain migration.
Democrats have stood firm on offering Trump little to nothing in funding for the border wall.
According to Politico, Schumer at first offered Trump more than the $1.6 billion in border wall funding Trump requested this year in exchange for reviving the DACA program, which Trump rescinded in September. Schumer took back that offer after the shutdown, Politico reported.
The Department of Homeland Security has determined that the wall will cost roughly $18 billion over 10 years to cover most areas along the border that aren’t blocked by natural barriers.
According to a new Harvard-Harris poll, 61 percent said the United States has inadequate border security.
The same poll found that 81 percent of Americans said the U.S. should take in fewer than the 1.3 million immigrants it currently admits each year. Seventy-nine percent also said that America’s immigration agendas should be based on an immigrants’ ability to contribute to the U.S. and have skills.
An overwhelming majority of Americans appear to agree with Trump that we need more enhanced border security measures, fewer immigrants should be accepted annually, and that American security should be prioritized over the needs of illegals.
Many agree with Trump that we must have safety and security, funding to keep our military strong, and border protections to keep Americans safe.
On top of that, shutting down the federal government to prioritize illegals over Americans is definitely a losing strategy for Democrats heading into midterm elections in November.
When Americans go to the polls, they’ll remember which party shut down the federal government to protect illegal aliens over American citizens.
As Trump said: “No Wall, no DACA.”
The terms have been set: Take it or leave, Cryin’ Chuck.
