Reporter Faces the Wrath of Nikki Haley After Asking if She Mistreats Palestinians
If you’re a reporter and have to ask U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley a question, make sure it’s not a stupid question. If you do ask a stupid question, then may the odds be ever in your favor.
One Arab reporter learned that lesson firsthand.
It all started when said reporter opened his question to Haley about the Palestinian people. “You are so strong when it comes to the freedom and dignity of the Iranian people but you have a different meaning of freedom and dignity when it comes to the Palestinian people, who’ve been brutalized for over 50 years of occupation,” he began.
“What made you believe that you are on the right side of history, when you stood alone in the Security Council against 14 members and 128 countries….what made you believe that you are on the right side of history?” he continued.
Wrong question. Nikki Haley didn’t flinch and fired back an epic response.
“I stood proudly, even if I was the only hand in the Security Council to fight for the will of the people of the United States,” she said. “They wanted to see the embassy moved to Jerusalem and we follow through with that.”
Good for her. It’s so refreshing to see someone actually stand by her decisions, rather than flip-flop when international pressure increases.
Regardless of the international backlash, Haley did the right thing in her stance on the Israeli embassy. After the U.N. vote last month, Haley made it clear that “no vote in the United Nations will make any difference” on whether or not the U.S. will move its embassy to Jerusalem.
In addition to her embassy remarks, Haley let this reporter know exactly where the U.S. stood when it came to Palestinian aid.
She continued without skipping a beat, “We very much still want to have a peace process, nothing changes with that. The Palestinians now have to show they want to come to the table. As of now they are not coming to the table but they asked for aid. We are going to make sure they are coming to the table and we want to move forward with the peace process.”
On Tuesday, President Donald Trump tweeted that he could possibly be cutting off funding for Palestinians.
It's not only Pakistan that we pay billions of dollars to for nothing, but also many other countries, and others. As an example, we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect. They don’t even want to negotiate a long overdue…

…peace treaty with Israel. We have taken Jerusalem, the toughest part of the negotiation, off the table, but Israel, for that, would have had to pay more. But with the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?

“…we pay the Palestinians HUNDRED OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS a year and get no appreciation or respect,” the president wrote. Additionally, he noted that since the Palestinians won’t even discuss peace, removing future payments could very well be a reality.
It’s refreshing to see an administration so un-apologetically be pro-Israel in front of the world community. Haley has made it very clear to the U.N. how the U.S. feels about the state of Israel, and she hasn’t backed down once on her stance.
Hopefully more nations will come beside the U.S. as Haley makes her stand. But even if they don’t, make no mistake, that will not sway Trump’s and Haley’s resolve one iota.
