Navy Husband Returns to Wife in Dinosaur Costume But Her Real Surprise Is Hiding Underneath

Share

Weight loss is a struggle, especially postpartum. Any mom knows the challenge is real and that it takes a lot of work to overcome weight gain.

Lisa Diamond from California understands this struggle. The mom faced so much, from having a baby to seeing her husband Dustin leave on deployment with the Navy.

“My whole life has been a constant struggle with my weight,” Lisa told Frank Somerville with KTVU. “I have depression and food was my comfort, it was there for me and never judged me.”

“I got bigger and bigger and hated myself more and more,” she went on. “I was teased for my weight my whole life.”

Her struggles only got worse when she learned her 2-year-old son has autism while Dustin was away — news no mom wants to face alone.

Through it all, Lisa wanted to make a change. She knew hard work would help her reach her goal of losing the weight and keeping it off.

She hired a personal trainer and changed her diet. Lisa wanted to surprise her husband with her epic transformation when he returned.

Not only did she surprise him, but she did the weight loss reveal in the best way. Dressed in a dinosaur costume, Lisa greeted Dustin with open arms.

His reaction is adorable. We have a feeling he’d love his wife no matter what size she is, but we’re happy to see this hard-working mom so proud of herself — it’s clear Dustin is proud of her too!

“She looks amazing! I wasn’t expecting it!” Dustin told Somerville.

“Lisa is such a devoted wife to Dustin and was so determined to surprise him with her extreme weight loss through diet and exercise…” Ana Fodor, Lisa’s mom, wrote on Facebook.

She looks stunning. Her smile is everything — exuding confidence and pride. Lisa’s story is an inspiration to anyone who has struggled with similar issues.

“The first thing Dustin said was ‘oh wow!’ and he went on and on about how beautiful I am,” the happy mom and wife told KTVU.

Military family reunions are always special, but this one adds a little extra icing to the cake. What a beautiful family!
