Struggling Mother Receives Heartwarming Letter in Mail from Stranger with $100 Cash Inside
For many young moms raising small children, money is tight, days are exhausting and nights are sleepless.
Keeping up with life can seem overwhelming at times, especially when the stress of money weighs heavily on a mom’s heart.
Megan Augsburger, from Avon, Indiana, is a stay-at-home mom raising three kids, one is still a toddler.
Augsburger is used to money being tight, but on March 19, her financial situation was especially strained.
“Stuff with our bank account wasn’t going right,” Augsburger told WXIN-TV. “Then having to get help from a family member just to make sure we got what we needed to cover.”
Augsburger said her day took an unexpected turn when she went out to the mailbox and found an envelope simply addressed to “The Family” at their address.
Curious, Augsburger opened the envelope and found a hand-written letter inside from a Pittsboro, North Carolina, couple that she did not know.
The mystery couple signed the letter with their initials, “B+D.”
The couple had tucked $100 in cash inside the envelope and explained that they simply wanted to do something kind for someone they did not know.
“I started reading the letter and basically started crying,” Augsburger said.
B+D told the story of when they were younger and newly married. They randomly got a letter with $100 inside that encouraged them.
Now that they are in a place to help others, B+D had randomly selected Augsburger’s house, without knowing anything about her situation.
“It helped out so much,” Augsburger said. “From the bottom of my heart it just — honestly it made me cry.”
Just like B+D experienced in their younger years, Augsburger and her husband were greatly encouraged by the kindness of strangers.
“It makes everything so much better to know that there’s that kind of people out there who don’t want recognition, who don’t want anything in return, just to do something really nice for somebody else,” Augsburger said.
