Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Shares Heartfelt Video After Surprising Dad with Life-Changing Gift
Celebrities who give back never fail to warm our hearts and remind us that whether famous or not, we’re all human and we all have love and kindness to give.
If you follow Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, you might remember when he gave his mom a house for Christmas in 2018. He’s made it clear he’s a family man through and through.
Johnson has never shied away from the grand gesture and loves to share these heartfelt moments with his followers on social media.
Aside from giving his mom her dream home, Johnson surprised his stunt double and cousin with a new truck in 2018. The video was posted to Instagram and makes us want to cry.
Now the wrestler-turned-actor is at it again with another grand display of affection for someone he holds very near and dear to his big heart.
His dad, former professional wrestler Rocky Johnson, has a heartbreaking backstory, so The Rock decided to share a bit about it on Instagram.
“He’s a weathered soul and like all weathered souls, there’s often a harsh storied path that got them there,” Johnson wrote.
He went on to explain how his dad was kicked out of his own home by his mother at the young age of 13. He was made “to live on the streets … so his reality of compassion and love was forged thru pain and toughness.”
The “tough love” Johnson’s dad showed him has stayed with the celebrity. While he admits he wasn’t too fond of the tough love his dad showed in the ring and the gym, he says it has taught him discipline.
To thank his dad for all he’s done, Johnson decided to surprise him with a new home. “He couldn’t believe it, he was speechless,” Johnson shares in his Instagram video.
Watch as he talks about his dad and all he means to him. This is just one more reason we love The Rock — he never fails to keep us rooting for him in the ring of life.
What a guy. It’s clear he has such a genuine and authentic personality. He’s definitely someone we’d like to meet in person someday.
Our hats go off to this man. We can’t wait to see what he does next and look forward to his upcoming role in Disney’s “The Jungle Cruise,” coming in the summer of 2020.
