Someone Just Give This Superintendent a Record Deal Already

Share

The winter hits just keep rolling in from Missouri Valley Schools Superintendent Brent Hoesing in Iowa.

To let students know when classes have been canceled due to the weather, Hoesing picks up a mic and sings a little tune to inform them of the cancelation, the Omaha World-Herald reported.

His latest remake was sung to the George Michael hit “Faith” and it certainly does not disappoint.

The catchy tune featured a chorus of “Cause it is a cold day. It is a cold day. Because it is a cold day, day, day. It is a cold day, day, day.”

This is not the first song from the “singing superintendent.”

He has recorded himself singing changed lyrics to “Ice Ice Baby,” “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back),” ‘Let It Snow,” “Can’t Stop the Feeling!,” “Uptown Funk” and “Johnny B. Goode.”

The superintendent’s snow-closing remakes have gone viral as he posts them on YouTube each time there is a school cancelation.

He’s racked up more than 30,000 views in total for the snow and cold day cancelation videos.

The idea for the songs actually came from Hoesing’s wife who told him to think outside the box and try new things even if he might fail, according to the Omaha World-Herald.

Hoesing has passed this wisdom on to his students as well.

“I was super nervous people wouldn’t accept it,” Hoesing told the Omaha World-Herald, “but before I knew it, it blew up.”

He spends up to 90 minutes rewriting the lyrics to the songs he creates for his students and another half-hour recording the video until he gets it perfect in one take.

Hoesing is also ready for the next snowy, cold day as he keeps a list of songs that can be remade right on his phone.

The songs are the perfect way to interact with students and make sure that they get the information they need about a school cancelation.

We can only imagine what Hoesing will come up with next. Sing on Hoesing!
