13-Year-Old Girl Dresses as 'Tired Mom' for Halloween, Complete with Cheerios in Hair

Share

Shout out to all the moms today who just wanted to sleep in. To the moms who survived a crazy night of candy hoarding and alligator tears because little Johnny’s Boba Fett costume wasn’t as good as Joey’s Kylo Ren.

Here’s to the mama who snuck a Kit Kat or two (or three) after precious Sally fell asleep on the couch while still dressed like a sparkly Unicorn.

And let’s not forget the mother who handed out full-sized candy bars to trick-or-treaters just so sweet Amy could be the coolest kid in class tomorrow.

Moms are the best. They work tirelessly at a 24/7 job that never ends. They spend an hour doing their daughter’s hair only to throw theirs up in a messy bun and rush out the door.

A quick run past the drive-thru at Starbucks is a moment’s remedy that satisfies your soul in a way nothing else can when baby is wailing in the back seat.

But, just like that, the coffee gets cold before she’s had as much as a sip. She left it in the cupholder of the car while she carried in 50 bags of groceries on each arm.

But that’s the #momlife, right? One 13-year-old girl from New Mexico has captured the mom life perfectly via her creative Halloween costume.

Jillian decided to bypass the costume superstore this year. Instead she went for something homemade which is sure to become a new classic.

“Jillian’s ‘tired mom’ costume is literally EVERYTHING!” Lindsay Hartsock of The Hartsocks’ Photography wrote on Facebook in October.

The mom of nine told Yahoo! Lifestyle, “Growing up in a big family, [Jillian] has seen the blood, sweat, and tears that go into raising kids. She is our biggest helper and loves her eight siblings so much, but they also tire her out!”

Can you relate to Jillian's costume?

Lindsay explained on Facebook that they did an entire shoot of Jillian in her epically accurate digs. She’s got the #momlife down from the Cheerios in her hair to the diaper sticking out of her yoga pants!

Commenters have flooded the post since it was shared on October 26 — which just so happened to be the teen’s birthday.

“Thank you so much for being so kind to Jillian!” Hartsocks’ wrote in the comments. “…We are excited that so many of you can relate [to] loving… your kids, but being totally exhausted at the same time.”

Jillian’s relatable photos have almost 10K comments to date and the post has been shared over 72K times!

This girl is hilarious! The doll hanging off her leg really sealed the deal for me. She is the absolute image of how a tired mom appears on the outside.

But, as all mamas know, though we may have smeared mascara on our cheeks or spit up on our shirts, we wouldn’t trade any of it.

Jillian’s costume just proves that moms are superheroes. They do everything and keep on going. So here’s to you, Mom.

If you looked in the mirror today and saw a little of Jillian’s costume in your reflection, that’s okay. Because you’re a rockstar. And rockstars know how to rock a messy bun.
