Meghan Markle's Royal Rescue Dog Has 'Written' His Own Children's Book
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, isn’t the only member of her household living the fairytale dream of a royal life.
Markle’s rescue dog, Guy, now has his own “wags to riches” story that is sure to leave readers feeling inspired.
A new children’s book is set to be released in November, telling the story of how Guy met Markle and is now living the royal doggy life.
Guy is listed as one of the authors (pawthors?) of the new book, “The Rebarkable True Story of Meghan Markle’s Rescue Dog.”
“Guy’s story of finding acceptance in an exceptional family will have readers of all ages barking with laughter,” the book description reads.
Markle and Guy have only been together for a few years, when Markle spotted him at an adoption event while she was filming “Suits” in Toronto.
As reported by Elle, Guy was found lost and abandoned in the woods in Kentucky in 2015. He was rescued by a Toronto-based dog organization, “A Dog’s Dream Rescue.”
The animal shelter seemed aptly named for the dog who had no idea a real-life dream rescue was about to take place.
“Guy was living in a shelter after being found lost in a Kentucky forest, and now he’s living in a palace,” said Dolores Doherty, who runs A Dog’s Dream Rescue.
“It’s a fairytale, a real rags-to-riches story.”
Guy’s book was written and illustrated by a human team, made up of writer and producer Mike Brumm, author Camille March and artist Gerald Keller.
Markle reportedly fell in love with Guy from the moment she laid eyes on his little puppy face. She adopted him right away, and eventually moved him overseas to the UK when the timing was right.
Guy has had several months now to settle into his new home with Markle and Prince Harry, snuggling up inside Nottingham Cottage at Kensington Palace.
It won’t be long now before Guy can add “best-selling author” to his growing list of doggy accomplishments.
