Joanna Gaines Shares Adorable Hospital Bracelet Tradition They've Done with Every Baby
There’s been a lot of buzz around Chip and Joanna Gaines’ new baby boy, Crew.
The precious bundle of joy was born on June 21, 2018, and has already captured “Fixer Upper” fans’ hearts. He joins the Gaines’ other four children: Drake, Ella, Duke, and Emmie Kay.
Since his birth, the family has shared precious moments of their older children pitching in and showing their littlest brother their Texas home.
On July 3rd, Ella and Emmie took Crew in the backyard to look up at the big, Texas sky and watch the stars. The Instagram photo is enough to make anyone’s heart melt.
Just two days later, Joanna shared a picture of baby #5 and revealed a little tradition that Chip has maintained since Drake’s birth.
According to the HGTV star’s Instagram post, Chip wore his hospital bracelet from Drake’s birth until it fell off. He decided to make it a tradition when Ella came along and has upheld it for every birth since.
The picture posted on Joanna’s Instagram page shows that some things never die; Chips’ bracelet is featured right next to his sleeping baby boy. “Looks like the tradition lives on. #5,” she wrote.
There’s no doubt that Crew Gaines is well loved by his family.
While the age gap between 8-year-old Emmie Kay and her newborn brother is pretty large, Joanna told People magazine that both her and Chip are excited.
“We think about things like when Emmie goes off to college this little one will only be 10,” she said. “It’s just crazy to think how wide that gap is, but Chip just loves hanging out with the kids and it’s just such a sweet thing.”
As for the four older children, they have already proven to be such good helpers. They were so excited for little Crew’s arrival that this comes as no surprise.
A month before his birth, she told People magazine that the age gap is a big part of that.
“I think it’s sweet because they’re older now, and I can see them wanting to be a part of this,” she said. “We’re all rallying around this baby, which I feel is a sweet gift to our family.”
