Police Officer Father & Son Recreate 20-Year-Old Photo for Father's Day
“I want to be just like my mom and dad when I grow up.” That’s what many of us have said at one time or another.
Good parents are often role models in our lives. We look to them for guidance and advice.
When it comes to “growing up,” sometimes we follow our own paths. But, other times, we walk in our parents’ footsteps, stride for stride.
One father-and-son photo has recently received a lot of attention on social media. In 1998, Officer Andy Gould of the Auburn, Washington Police Department had a photo taken with his son.
Michael Gould was just a kid at the time. But, is it possible a photo snapped 20 years ago was a sneak peek into the future?
According to the original caption, it just might be.
“When I get bigger I’m going to be my Dad’s partner and catch bad guys and burglars,” Michael wrote all those years ago.
Though he may have been too young to reach the pedals of a police cruiser back then, Officer Gould’s son knew exactly what he wanted. And he went out and got it.
Now, in 2018, the pair have taken the 20-year-old photo and placed it beside a new one. The result is priceless.
Talk about a double-take! No doubt the elder Officer Gould, also known as the 2012 Law Enforcement Officer of the year, is proud to have his son by his side.
As the caption states, Michael is now 6’7″ and can definitely reach the pedals on his own.
“Recreating the photo 20 years later was a wonderful tribute to father and son,” the police department continued in their post.
With these two fighting crimes together, there’s no telling what those “bad guys and burglars” will do.
What a great way to spend Father’s Day, side by side and smiling as wide as they did two decades ago.
