John Stamos Shows Son's Face for Very 1st Time, Admits Being a Dad Is All He's 'Ever Wanted'
Television dads are the best. Though often idealized, we can’t help but fall in love with our favorite fictional fathers.
If I asked, “Who was your favorite TV dad when you were a kid?” You might answer with names like Carl Winslow from “Family Matters,” Mike Brady from “The Brady Bunch,” or Danny Tanner from “Full House.“
“Full House” was such staple in 90s television culture, and Netflix is bringing the Tanner family back for a fourth season of “Fuller House.”
Though the famous Olsen twins haven’t graced the reboot with their presence, many other “originals” have happily made a comeback with the show’s, well… comeback. Episodes have included cameos of Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier), Aunt Becky (Lori Loughlin), and everyone’s favorite, hair-obsessed rockstar, Uncle Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos).
While Uncle Jesse’s character may have taken some time to adjust to life as a father figure onscreen, the man behind the act has taken quickly to his role as a dad. He and his wife, Caitlin McHugh, welcomed their son, William “Billy” Christopher, into the world on April 10, 2018.
This year marks Stamos’ first Father’s Day, and he celebrated by sharing a very special photo on social media. While fans have seen glimpses of little Billy, Stamos’ most recent post revealed his son’s face.
“My first Father’s Day means that I don’t have to hand a kid back to the parents when someone yells cut,” Stamos wrote in his caption.
The father and son duo look like they belong together, and there’s no denying the boy is already well on his way to inheriting his father’s infamous hair.
“My first Father’s Day means that… for the rest of my life, I’ll always be known as someone’s dad,” Stamos finished. “And that’s all I ever wanted. Happy Father’s Day.”
Though Stamos is 54, he’s not letting age stop him from being the dad he’s always dreamed of becoming. “It’s just beautiful,” he shared in an interview. “I’ve cried most days.”
And fans are crying right along with him. Stamos’ Father’s Day post has received nearly 400K likes and countless comments.
“I’m not crying, you’re crying!” one commenter said. “You will be the best dad ever!” another noted.
One thing’s for certain, this TV dad is anything but fake. Best wishes go out to him and his family during this very special first year.
