Country Superstar Keith Urban Pulls Young Girl on Stage, Hands Her Mic and Guitar
As a country music fan, Keith Urban is one of my all-time favorites. He is a talented musician and a wonderful singer. I mean, who doesn’t love his Australian accent?
Though I have to admit, his biggest fan is probably his wife, Nicole Kidman. If you watch her during his televised performances, you can see her dancing and singing along to her husband’s songs.
He also supports Kidman in return by encouraging her to sing with him. In fact, she provided background vocals on his song “Female.”
The couple was seen in Nashville singing the song “Parallel Line” together after Urban coaxed her up on stage with him.
Kidman is not the only one that Urban has encouraged to sing on stage.
At a performance a few months ago, he called a pair of sisters up on stage and asked them, “What do you wanna do when you get out of school and get a job? What’s the dream job in life?”
One girl responded, “Be a singer-songwriter,” just like Urban. The country superstar then asked if she has written anything yet and if she played the guitar.
When she said she did both, Urban called for a guitar and a stool for the teen to sit on.
“I mean, look, this is work experience right here, right now,” Urban told her. The young girl looked star struck as she took the guitar from Urban.
I can’t even imagine how nervous she was as Urban set up the stage for her to perform on. She looked out at the audience as Urban talked with her, her eyes bright and wondering how her dream to perform on stage was coming true so quickly.
She started to strum the guitar and smiled out at the cheering audience. And all of a sudden, the voice of an angel came out of her mouth.
The entire time, her sister stood behind her, smiling and beaming with pride.
“And now you have YouTube footage of you playing at the Rogers Center,” Urban said after she was done.
How nice of him to give her this experience! I’m sure we will see her again on stage sometime soon!
