Teen Daughters Refuse To Clean Room, So Mom Bags Up Everything & Charges Fee to Get it Back

Share

Was your room spick and span as a youngster or were you a messy adolescent?

Many parents face a fight when it comes to keeping things tidy, but one mother got so sick of the mess that she, let’s just say, got creative.

Alice Valasquez, a mother of teen girls, was facing this messy rooms issue. She told her girls over and over to clean their rooms but they just didn’t listen.

So fed up Alice took action. Her controversial remedy will make her daughters think twice before leaving things lying around in the future.

One day while her kids were at school, Alice took control.

She went into the girls’ bedrooms with trash bags and filled them with items that had been left out.

She took some pictures and posted them online with this caption:

“What do you do when you are DONE telling your teenage daughters to stop letting their room look like homeless people live there? You put everything (YES EVERYTHING) into plastic bags and you sell it back to them for $25 a bag (and they have to earn the money doing chores). The best part? The bags were collected as they were found in the room- random! So their $25 could buy a bag of dirty clothes, it could buy a bag of trash or it could buy their soccer gear. #MayTheOddsBeEverInYourFavor”

You have to give credit to this clever mom! The Hunger Games reference is just icing on the cake.

The post quickly went viral. Apparently messy rooms are a worldwide pandemic.

Parents from all over the world contacted Alice. Most loved the idea but some said it was abusive and went overboard.

What do you think about this mom’s idea?
