Watch: Charles Barkley Threatens To Slap Co-Host After Revealing His Top-5 NBA Players

Share

Many believe the NBA on TNT crew — Ernie Johnson, Shaquille O’Neal, Kenny Smith and Charles Barkley — is the best in sports.

On Easter Sunday, they showed again why they are so entertaining, and as usual, Barkley was at the center of it.

They were arguing about who the top five players in the NBA are, which led to Barkley wanting to slap one of his co-hosts on national television.

During halftime of the Raptors-Magic game, Barkley gave his list of the top five players in the league.

“I’m making my list here and I said, LeBron (James), KD (Kevin Durant), Giannis (Antetokounmpo), James (Harden) and Kawhi (Leonard) – those are 5 best basketball players in my opinion,” Barkley said.

“You don’t think Steph Curry is in that (list)?” Smith asked.

“Not in front of these guys,” Barkley shot back.

Do you think Charles Barkley gets too confrontational?

“I’m just asking the question,” Smith said.

“If I said the damn answer, don’t ask me that question,” Barkley said.

Then Johnson chimed in. “We know from past experience that sometimes your lists are subject to change.”

“You don’t have (Russell) Westbrook in there either, or Paul George,” Smith replied.

Barkley paused at the suggestion then turned and looked at Smith.

“If I don’t slap the Hell out of you on national television,” Barkley said. “It’s my list.”

“It’s Easter Sunday, Charles … be nice,” Johnson said.

Then they got into the fact that Barkley had just woken up before the segment.

“You didn’t think about it; you just wrote it down 5 seconds ago,” Smith said.

“I did think about it,” Barkley said.

“You were sleeping,” Smith said, not joking at all. “You couldn’t have thought about it.”

“When I came out here, I woke,” Barkley said. “LeBron, KD, Giannis, Kawhi, and James – that would be my top 5.”

He did switch the order of Leonard and Harden from his original list, but who’s counting. Just add it to the list of Barkley’s greatest hits.
