NFL rookie drops big coin, surprises his parents with two brand new cars
Just two months into his NFL career and before he’s even signed his first pro contract, Sony Michel of the Patriots has decided to splurge by purchasing two new cars.
But unlike most rookies who usually splurge on themselves, Michel bought the cars for his parents as a thank you for all their hard work in getting him to this point.
Michel documented the reactions of his parents on his Instagram story, and Tyler Sullivan of 247 Sports captured stills of the story.

It appears that mom received an Audi SUV while dad got a new Chevy pickup truck. It’s fitting that Michel’s Instagram handle is flyguy2stackz as he surely dropped two stacks to pay for those new vehicles.
Michel’s relationship with his parents was well documented while he was in college, and CBS Sports even produced a digital video of the Michel family.

While Michel has not yet signed his rookie contract, he was one of several rookies who signed a predraft endorsement deal with Adidas.

Michel was the No. 31 overall pick after a standout career at Georgia during which he shared a backfield with Nick Chubb, who went 35th overall to the Browns.
While at Georgia, Michel and Chubb combined for 8,259 career rushing yards, which surpassed Eric Dickerson and Craig James of SMU as the most combined rushing yards by a pair of teammates.
With his parents now taken care of, Michel’s next order of business is to get his contract situation squared away.
Michel was the second first-round pick of the Patriots, and late on Friday it was announced that New England’s top draft pick, Isaiah Wynn, signed his rookie contract.
New England now has eight of its nine 2018 draft picks under contract, with Michel being the lone one unsigned.
Nearly half of the 2018 first-round draft picks are still unsigned, so there’s not much to worry about at this point and Patriots training camp doesn’t begin until July 22 for rookies.
Based on the contract of last year’s No. 31 overall pick, Reuben Foster of the 49ers, Michel should see a slight increase on the four-year, $9.03 million contract ($4.71 million guaranteed) that Foster signed for in 2017.
